The American Revolution goes hand in hand with the war, so I do not see a need for two separate articles on the matter. Also, this article had a American Civil War chronology section to it.. I am wondering if someone has one for the Revolution and accidentally placed the wrong one in this article or if we need to build from scratch. --Colest 20:34, 9 June 2007 (EDT)

• Sorry about that...I had made several time-lines for different wars on Microsoft Word, then copied them onto Conservapedia...I must have copied the wrong one and didn't notice. No problem, I'm glad you had it. I'd be interested in hearing your opinions on whether we should merge this article with American Revolutionary War. I ask this because, as it stands now, this article appears to be designed to discuss the social aspects of the revolution, and not the war, so if we keep them separated the time line would probably be better served in the War article. Also, as an idea for expansion, we might want to include some of the acts that triggered the revolution prior to Lexington/Concord, such as the series of legislative tariffs the British Government began enacting, etc.

I'm just trying to get some other people's opinions here, I don't want to unilaterally move/merge such large, important articles without trying to get some sort of consensus. --Colest 13:37, 11 June 2007 (EDT)

I think we should definitely merge the two articles. Separate ones are unnecessary, and instead of making it less confusing with two separate articles, it would make the one better. So I say do it! DeborahB. 14:14, 11 June 2007 (EDT)

I've mentioned this on my talk page with TK, but I'll bring the discussion here, because something needs to be sorted out with this.

Of the 3 paragraphs that RobS added (which come from the original American Revolution article), paragraphs 1 and 2 are identical to paragraphs 1 and 3 in the Declaration of Independence article. I don't believe we need this kind of redundancy. My thought process on this right now is that we trim down some of the information on the Declaration that is in this article, and perhaps add more from the 3rd paragraph here over to the Declaration article. I understand that it is important to have a brief synopsis of some of the ideological thought processes, but if the reader was searching for something more in deptht the could go to the Declaration article. --Colest 09:44, 12 June 2007 (EDT)

Refine Causes

The "Causes" section is woefully simple-minded and must be addressed. This would be a ripe opportunity for anyone interested to explore some of the history behind the events that led up to the Revolution and the nuance behind the politics of it. The list doesn't even include the Boston Massacre. It must be noted at the time that the colonists as a group did not disparage the consumption of tea (it was actually a very popular product in the colonies), and the tea party was more of a symbolic gesture than anything.
