Worschact, Stop deleting my categories unless you have a reason listed on the talk page first. TheAmericanRedoubt 01:48, 11 January 2015 (EST)
- Wschact, the third paragraph of the article demonstrates that the new category tag was justified. Please be more reasonable in your challenging of category tags. In recent decades, the American federal government has shown a greater propensity for acting unlawfully (ATF fast and furious, IRS, Justice Roberts legislating from the bench in ObamaCare, VA Administration, Roe vs. Wade, etc. etc.). - Thank you for your comments. I added the Fast and Furious material to this article, which did not involve the Second Amendment. The ATF is a large group of people working under a set of official policies. The policies are shaped by laws passed by Congress. By apply these categories are you making a statement about the majority of ATF employees, about the ATF policies or about the laws that Congress passed for the ATF to implement? I also noticed that we agree that Category:Police State should not be included. Thank you for that, Wschact 02:21, 11 January 2015 (EST)
- Various plausible arguments can be made about the ATF often engaging in unconstitutional acts and often acting in other inappropriate ways (numerous congressional investigations have been launched due to their inappropriate actions). See: this articleConservative 02:26, 11 January 2015 (EST)

- I am coming in late here. Who is "Worschact"? It looks like there is some sort of petty schoolyard name-calling going on here. AlanE 02:29, 11 January 2015 (EST)
Also, consider this:
"The Firearms Freedom Act (FFA) is sweeping the Nation. June 3rd, 2010
Originally introduced and passed in Montana, the FFA declares that any firearms made and retained in-state are beyond the authority of Congress under its constitutional power to regulate commerce among the states.
Following initial Montana enactment, clones of the Firearms Freedom Act have subsequently been enacted in Tennessee, Utah, Wyoming and South Dakota, and other clones have been introduced in the legislatures of twenty-some other states.
The FFA is primarily a Tenth Amendment challenge to the powers of Congress under the “commerce clause,” with firearms as the object – it is a state’s rights exercise."[1]
Again, Conservapedia is not going to cave into the often unlawful and specious arguments of the gun control lobby that don't withstand scrutiny and often cause unintended consequences. Conservative 02:36, 11 January 2015 (EST)
- An addendum: The data indicates that generous (and constitutional) gun rights in countries with significant crime rates, can save reduce crime and save lives.[2][3] Conservative 02:41, 11 January 2015 (EST)
- Um. Then there's http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/worldviews/wp/2012/12/14/chart-the-u-s-has-far-more-gun-related-killings-than-any-other-developed-country/ Then, of course, there is my own country whose gun deaths per unit of population is minuscule compared to the States. Not every place in the world has a culture like Australia. For example, tyrannical governments have repeatedly taken advantage of people throughout history and an armed citizenry is an insurance policy against that. The is probably unlikely to happen in Australia due to its strong anti-tall poppy culture where people cut down politician stuff shirts down to size quickly. Given growing economic and political instability in the world due to growing government debt and failing higher educational systems that produce high youth unemployment, the emergence of tyrannical governments is not a totally implausible idea.
Also, some countries have problems with various subpopulations with persistently high crime rates and generous gun rights have been shown to reduce this crime and save lives.[4][5]
Furthermore, knife attacks in the UK are a significant problem and the Guardian has a whole section of its website devoted to knife attacks.
Gallup Polling shows that there is a clear trend of Americans wanting less gun control and not more. Perhaps if you lived in a crime infested neighborhood with slow police response times, your gun control zeal would wane. America is not going to become like Australia in terms of its gun laws anytime soon.
America and Switzerland (which has low gun fatalities) have robust gun cultures. If you mistakenly believe that you are going to change these countries policies or change Conservapedia's stance on this issue, you are headed towards disappointment. It is like trying to launch prohibition in Australia. It's not going to happen. Conservative 04:01, 11 January 2015 (EST)
