I'm actually uncertain myself, but are statutory rape cases considered child molestation? If they are, then we can link to the Congressional Page scandals from here.--IDuan 01:07, 25 February 2008 (EST)

Revision as of 06:07, February 25, 2008

Earlier there was a user who tried several times to add a link to NAMBLA's website in the article of that name, and this user was given tacit support and approval by others for his actions. There are people in Conservapedia, including Andy, who WILL NEVER TOLERATE any site that advocates child molesting, and I don't want to hear the excuses as to NAMBLA's so-called intentions. If I see anyone post a link to a child-molesting site, I will assume they support child molesting and they will never be allowed in this website again. If I see direct evidence that such an editor may be more involved in child molesting then providing a link, then Andy will be notified as well as federal and state law enforcement. Fill this article with needed info. Karajou 14:13, 28 April 2007 (EDT)

Here are two quotes from Paul Cameron, chairman of the Family Research Institute of Colorado Springs:

 • the 1%-to-3% of adults who practice homosexuality account for between a fifth and a third of all child molestation. [1]
 • Not only is the gay rights movement upfront in its desire to legitimize sex with children, but whether indexed by population reports of molestation, pedophile convictions, or teacher-pupil assaults, there is a strong, disproportionate association between child molestation and homosexuality. [ibid]

Even though they are pro-homosexual, the Ontario Consultants on Religious Tolerance admit the following:

 • Within the Roman Empire of the 1st century CE, many boys or young men (called "catamites") were kept as under-aged prostitutes by older men. They were usually slaves. [2]
 • Child sexual abuse is widespread. It is perpetrated by males in the vast majority of cases. And a substantial minority of their victims are boys. [ibid]

There is tremendous denial in the gay rights movement about homosexual activity, based on the semantics of "identity" and so forth. Anything to justify the abomination, I guess. --Ed Poor 17:58, 28 April 2007 (EDT)

I'm fairly certain the spelling is actually Polly Klaas... I did a quick Google search to verify it. DanH 23:19, 28 April 2007 (EDT)

"Klaas" is correct; my apologies to the Klaas Family for getting the spelling wrong. Karajou 00:30, 29 April 2007 (EDT)

Improvements

If possible, future editors may want to do several things for this article.

 • Provide more information as to dealing with, and helping victims of, child sexual harassment.
 • Add more info as to recent cases of individuals who committed such crimes; if the suspect has not been proven guilty in court, use the word "alleged."
 • Provide help group information in the links section.
 • Add more information concerning identified organizations that promote such crimes, but DO NOT add links to their home pages.

Article name

The name of this article should be Child molestation (noun), not Child molesting (verb). Philip J. Rayment 22:01, 29 April 2007 (EDT)

If "molestation" is better, then by all means change it. Karajou 00:10, 30 April 2007 (EDT)

Roman Catholic Church

Those people who are adding references about the Catholic Church, cite individual cases, not blanket statements. We want to be specific here. Karajou 17:54, 2 May 2007 (EDT)

Coupla things...

1. The "Cases" section runs the risk of turning into some kind of warped Top Ten. For what it's worth, I say get rid.

2. If this article has any serious aspirations to child protection, it must stress the fact that the majority of victims are abused by members of their own family, or that family's immediate circle of friends. Whilst foaming about unknown predators and perverts is doubtless very bracing for you all, it is still very much a side issue in terms of keeping your kids safe.

--Robledo 19:48, 2 May 2007 (EDT)

I'd agree with that. What we could do is to remove the "warped top ten" and replace it with that info you suggested, something that would be more helpful to the family at preventing it from happening. Karajou 00:31, 10 May 2007 (EDT)
Thirded. May I take the liberty then of replacing the 'cases' subsection with 'precautions against child molestation'? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Underscoreb (talk)
Thanks for that sig, Philip. My bad. I've replaced the 'cases' subsection with something a little more constructive, but for some reason the spam filter wouldn't save the article at first, because of the word 'm_sturbation' in the opening paragraph. I baleeted it, but does anyone know if the spam filter also declines links with similar phrases? It might make referencing quite difficult...Underscoreb 23:06, 15 November 2007 (EST)
"baleeted"??? :-)
I believe that the "spam filter" (auto-censor?) will reject that sequence of characters anywhere, including in a URL.

It's a Strong Bad thing. Google it sometime. :-D Underscoreb 16:09, 18 November 2007 (EST)
