I'm not at all an economisist, but this definition doesn't match what I found on Websters. Would someone who knows economics just give it a "once over"? I don't feel comfortable changing something based only on "that *feels* wrong". Websters copy: 1: the promotion of the consumer's interests2: the theory that an increasing consumption of goods is economically desirable; also : a preoccupation with and an inclination toward the buying of consumer goods. Thanks! Michelle.--MHayes 12:39, 26 August 2008 (EDT)
