Talk:Future of Christianity

Please unlock this article. There is a grammatical error, relating to a compound sentence, that needs to be fixed. But at least there don't seem to be any restrictive / non-restrictive subordinate clause errors.  :-) SamHB (talk) 14:29, 28 April 2016 (EDT)

And, while I have your attention, you did the right thing by not deleting Rob's "new ordeal" thing and just moving it to essay space. I did not expect it to be deleted outright, and, in my comment, I hinted at essayifying it. Of course I would prefer that it go away (along with a lot of other pages here, many written by you :-), but that's not going to happen. I'm a guest here.
Thank you for reding/editing the article Conservative (talk) 20:55, 28 April 2016 (EDT)
Well, I looked for the compound sentence error, and couldn't find it. Finally, I checked the history, and your edit of 21:04 today had fixed that very error! But I made some other changes. In particular, the "compound footnote" thing, which is always a real pain. But since I wrote up the guide for fixing those things, at How to put links and footnotes into your articles, I feel a personal responsibility for this, even in articles I didn't write.
But it seems I lied when I said, above, that there were no restrictive / non-restrictive errors. Look at my change. I assume you meant to say that Christianity has a large collection of inspiring songs, unlike all of atheism, not just some subset of atheism which lacks a large collection of inspiring songs. By the way, I haven't asked this of my atheist friends, but I would guess that they would say that inspiring songs aren't important to them. Their loss.
And please don't lock this page again. I'm going to bring this up on the Community Portal, since Andy has locked a page that needs to be synchronized with another page, and has ignored my request to unlock. Consider this: vandals will vandalize whatever pages they can get their hands on, usually selected from Recent Changes. If a page is locked, they will just go on to another page. You may have stopped vandalism to this page, but you haven't actually reduced the overall burden of reverting vandalism. The only way to do that is to lock all pages, which you don't want to do, or restrict account creation, which you don't want to do either.

I unlocked the article. By the way, thanks to you, Conservapedia wins, places and shows for the search "High morale of Christendom" at a prominent search engine that begins with a G. If you were a betting man, you could have had a trifecta! Conservative (talk) 15:46, 11 February 2017 (EST)
