Talk:Grove City College

This deserves some serious attention. I am not sure where the initial author gets the notion that GCC is the #1 ranked small college in the nation. According to U.S. News and World Report, that title has alternated back and forth between Williams College and Amherst College for as long as I can remember.

Perhaps the initial author is referring to a different system of categorization (i.e. #1 Christian College, etc.)?

No time to verify...class to teach.

I don't think in this case that "top-ranked" means "#1 ranked", it just means that it's highly ranked. HelpJazz 14:08, 6 October 2008 (EDT)
I agree with the above (albeit somewhat old) concern, and am concerned that other parts of this read a bit like promotional material for the school. For example, is the math program really "superb"? The slim course offerings, small faculty, and middling Putnam finishes (most recently 99th) suggest that even "mediocre" might overstate the case. It seems comparable to other schools its size, and inferior to even the poorer state schools. At least some clarification of the ways in which these programs are superb would be useful. --DanN 22:37, 25 February 2011 (EST)
It's a conservative school but you need specifics. Hmmm. --Jpatt 22:42, 25 February 2011 (EST)
I don't care if it's conservative or liberal. If the article for the Karl Marx Academy said it had a "superb" math program when in fact it is at best third-rate, I'd complain about that too. Anyone mind if I remove the misleading claims? --DanN 22:49, 25 February 2011 (EST)
