I don't want to step on your toes Andy but the phrase "Though portrayed as a symbol of the future..." seems a bit editorial without some sort of citation. The sentence would read better without it in my view. --CarolineMilton 22:52, 5 February 2008 (EST)

I've taken a quick look and found stories that generally, though not specifically, cast Ledger in that light. I could add references that describe Brokeback Mountain in those terms, even by a Utah newspaper here.--Aschlafly 23:21, 5 February 2008 (EST)

I made some changes to reflect the official police report. In addition, I want to suggest changing Ledger's label as a "liberal icon". That's a vast overstatement.--RossC 17:17, 6 February 2008 (EST)
