Texas and racism
Liberals are well-known for trying to deflect their racism onto us. After years of wondering, I finally figured out where their stereotype of the lazy Mexican comes from (which is the opposite of the truth- legal immigrants and their descendants work incredibly hard). I believe it's from the battle that won Texas' independence from Mexico. In that deciding battle, the Texians successfully sneak-attacked the Mexican army whilst most of them were in the middle of their siestas, butchering them to the point of defeat within an hour. I'd say it's a fitting punishment for the massacre at the Alamo, yet nonetheless tragic that so many lives had to be lost.--Pious (talk) 03:29, 17 August 2016 (EDT)
- You are entirely correct that some Mexican immigrants are very diligent and dedicated. Perhaps the war was the source of this, but illegal Mexican immigrants are also sometimes guilty of this. While some come over for legitimate reasons, many more have a complete disregard for our laws and our system. These people who come to get the free handouts and not to make a better life for themselves certainly further this bad opinion. --David B (TALK) 19:16, 17 August 2016 (EDT)
