I wouldn't mind seeing an article on reasons for opposing him, '''other than''' the notion that he might be guilty of the thing they're smearing him with. In other words, let's get to the motivation behind the smear. --[[User:Ed Poor|Ed Poor]] [[User talk:Ed Poor|Talk]] 10:27, 24 September 2018 (EDT)

Please revise the beginning of the article

The article is specifically about the attempted rape allegations against Kavanaugh -- it's not about general opposition to him. If so, we could talk about the Dems' opposition to his judicial philosophy (interpreting the Constitution as written). Since the left-wing is now trying to destroy his reputation in order to defeat him, we should have an article directly addressing this. --1990'sguy (talk) 21:12, 21 September 2018 (EDT)
Prof. Dershowitz says Maryland law defines rape as penetration or attempted penetration. Nothing of the sort is alleged to have happen here. Can we stop using that term, please? RobSDeep Six the Deep State!`
You're right, Rob. Please make the changes to the entry as you think best.--Andy Schlafly (talk) 01:31, 24 September 2018 (EDT)

Note; the March 2012 pre-primary New Yorker article by Jeffrey Toobin does not mention Romney at all. It merely notes Kavanaugh is whatever Republican's favorite candidate. RobSDeep Six the Deep State! 00:34, 24 September 2018 (EDT)

Reasons for opposing Kavanaugh

It is my understanding that the Kavanaugh smear is motivated less by concern for a woman's right to be free of assault than by prejudice against Kavanaugh because he's a strict constructionist. I heard that the accuser was already strongly opposed to Kavanaugh's nomination before "remembering" the alleged assault. --Ed Poor Talk 10:25, 24 September 2018 (EDT)
