Why is this in the past tense entirely? There are still plenty of laissez-fair politicians/economists out there, e.g. every libertarian on the planet.

I think the Bible verse is completely irrelevant and does not help in making this a concise article, but I'll wait for discussion before removing it. Any thoughts? ColinR 02:33, 15 March 2007 (EDT)

yes, the bible verse makes absolutely no sense in this context. --WOVcenter 04:14, 15 March 2007 (EDT)

The entry on laissez faire economics is not very conservative!

Wikipedia correctly identifies laissez faire with liberalism. But this should be understood to be classical liberalism. That is conservatism today. It is not modern liberalism.

Ronald Reagan won by combining economic conservatism with social conservatism. It's still a winning formula. There is no economic conservatism that is more conservative than laissez faire economics. It is distinctly American. We moved away from it with FDR. Laissez faire is simply free markets. It is freedom. I'd like to see a better and more positive entry in conservapedia. You might want to check our Mr. conservative economist, Ludwig Mises.
