Many of these sources are non-academic and thus illegitimate, I suggest we wipe the page and start over? --JPEngozi 23:46, 10 December 2008 (EST)

I'm not sourcing the quote I added because I don't want anyone stumbling upon this page actually reading the book. I've read part of it with a pure, unwavering Christian heart to understand the depths of human evil, but I don't want anyone who doesn't have these qualities exposed to such a potentially corrupting novel. --Pious 02:25, 27 July 2016 (CDT)

Well, I am interested in this to see how much of where we are today can be traced to this Sadist. Every born again Christian has two natures (new man & old man -- the old man waxes corrupt regardless of what a man reads.) But don't read what would be a stumbling block to you. This Sentence Appears to be obviously false

Article says:

"The 120 Days of Sodom, perhaps his most notorious book, was written by the Marquis whilst imprisoned in the Bastille, where he witnessed daily executions from his window during the Reign of Terror.

Was not the Bastille was destroyed (1789) before the Reign of Terror (1793-94)? If so, how could de Sade have watched the Reign of Terror from the Bastille??? I hope the the author or someone who knows this field can correct this. Otherwise, after a couple of weeks, I think I will delete what is obviously false. I fixed it. Conservative (talk) 15:58, 10 September 2016 (EDT)
Thank you. You've done a very good job of correcting my mistakes and elaborating on the article. --Pious (talk) 03:17, 11 September 2016 (EDT)
Yes Cons. We must make sure that 14 and 15 year olds must know about this. Let's give them all the details, shall we? AlanE (talk) 03:45, 11 September 2016 (EDT)
