Someone has written "citation needed" for the definition of pride in Christianity. I've traced it in part to Ed Poor, when he was writing at Wikipedia:
He wrote "Excessive belief in one's own abilities, that interferes with the individual's recognition of the grace of God". August 26, 2002.
Someone else further qualified the description of the belief to "Essentially competitive and excessive belief," and I am looking to see who that was. VargasMilan 00:58, 18 December 2014 (EST)
- It was 126.96.36.199 on December 27, 2005. He also clarified what was meant by the grace of God. Conservapedia policy seems to say we can't use this clarification without this Wikipedia user's permission. However, we can use a phrase like "essentially competitive" because Thomas Aquinas used a similar definition long before this user did, which I will find shortly as a citation to go with our friend Ed's definition.
