Tanner is a city in northern Alabama, part of the Huntsville metropolitan area.

It has been hit by three F5 tornadoes during two major outbreaks: twice during the 1974 outbreak (the tornadoes hit within 30 minutes of each other) and once during the 2011 outbreak.
