The Tennessee Titans are a National Football League franchise team based in Nashville, Tennessee. They are part of the American Football Conference (AFC) and play in the AFC Central Division. The team was known as the Houston Oilers until moving to Tennessee in 1997, then as the Tennessee Oilers for two years. The team took its current name in 1999. The team reached the Super Bowl that year, losing to the St. Louis Rams in a heartbreaking finish. On the way to the Super Bowl, the Titans defeated the Buffalo Bills with one of the most controversial plays in NFL history, known as the Music City Miracle. [1]
