The Doors were a California based psychadelic rock group active durring the 1960's and 70's. Featuring Jim Morrison on vocals, Ray Manzarek on organ, John Densmore on drums and Robbie Krieger on guitar. The Doors were famous for their liberal politics on war, drugs and sex. Their self titled debut album "The Doors" was released in 1966 and became a success thanks largely due to their number 1 single "Light My Fire". From their the Doors continued to release popular music often with a dark undertone. The group lost their singer Morrison when he died in 1971 but would release two albums afterword. Today the Doors reformed as The Doors Twenty First Century and continue to tour with only two original memebers (Densmore and Krieger).
