Theophany is derived from the Greek,[1] and it is defined as a visible manifestation of God, or an appearance of God to a person. There are many examples of theophany in the Bible, such as:
- Exod. 24:9-11 - God appearing to the Elders of Israel
- John 20:24-29 - Jesus appearing to Thomas after the resurrection
