Sir Tim Rice (born 1944) is a British songwriter. Although he trained as a lawyer, he is best known for his long association with the popular composer Andrew Lloyd Webber. Together, Rice wrote the lyrics and Lloyd Webber the music for a number of popular musicals including:
With Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus (formerly of ABBA), Rice wrote the hit musical Chess, and he was lyricist for the Walt Disney cartoons The Lion King and Alladin.
