Although elected in 2004 and reelected in 2008, he also served from 1995 to 1997 after being appointed by Governor Tom Ridge upon the conviction of Ernest Preate. Corbett is a Republican candidate for Govenor of Pennsylvania in the 2010 election and leading in early polling data.
