Trey Radel was a Republican Congressman representing Florida's 19th Congressional District. Radel was elected to the House of Representatives in the 2012 election cycle on the Tea Party platform, succeeding outgoing Representative Connie Mack IV. In November 2013, Radel pled guilty possession of crack cocaine,[1] and Radel officially tendered his resignation in a letter to Speaker of the House John Boehner in January 2014. Republican businessman Curt Clawson won special general election held on June 24, 2014 to replace him. Radel's district includes the majority of Southwest Florida, including the city of Naples, Florida.
Radel completed all conditions of his probation in October 2014, and his conviction was expunged.[2]
