Twitter allows users to follow others, share status updates and / or news via "tweets," or republish another user's status update (referred to as a "retweet"). If a subject is popular enough, it can become a trending topic worldwide, and is displayed on the main website.  Corporations can also pay Twitter to have a "Sponsored Trend" appear in the trending topics column. Twitter has made URL shorterners (such as ow.ly, bit.ly, tinyurl.com, and goo.gl, to name a few) popular, as they allow long URLs to be shortened and posted within a tweet.

Hypocrisy
 +
Democrat politicians such as Elizabeth Warren, who were in favor of letting Twitter do as it pleased under liberal ownership and did all it could to run interference for it and protect it and its lawless actions against regulation and sanctions by the Trump administration, did an about-face following the Musk purchase and, out of fearful concern of their crimes and misdeeds being exposed (and especially the return of President Trump to Twitter) now that Musk is restoring free speech to the platform and ending censorship there, suddenly and hypocritically became in favor of regulating Twitter, with Warren in particular advocating for a "wealth tax" and regulation of Big Tech that would specifically target Twitter and conservative social media platforms, claiming that Twitter's purchase by Musk and its subsequent restoration of free speech for conservatives would be "...dangerous for our democracy".

Twitter's illegal actions led directly to Trump signing an Executive Order on May 28, 2020 with the intent of bringing Twitter, Facebook, Google (and its YouTube subsidiary) and other leftist-controlled social media companies to heel with a new policy on the conduct of those companies and putting an end to both their illegal censorship and silencing of conservatives and their liberal bias in allowing violent leftists to basically have the run of those sites without consequence or responsibility.  Predictably, Twitter and Facebook reacted negatively toward the Trump Executive Order, with Twitter accusing the order of being "a reactionary and politicized approach to a landmark law (Section 230(c) of the Communications Decency Act)" and claiming, without evidence, that "Attempts to unilaterally erode (Section 230(c)) threaten the future of online speech and Internet freedoms" while ignoring that, under the Obama regime, Section 230(c) had been perverted and used by liberals in public office to impose acceptance of liberal agendas such as abortion on demand, gender confusion, "climate change", unfair taxation of wealth and the homosexual agenda on the American public and to themselves threaten online speech and Internet freedoms by ordering Twitter and other social media companies to illegally censor, silence, persecute and punish dissenting voices who disagreed with and opposed the imposition of those agendas.  President Trump responded to Twitter's irresponsible actions with a strong rebuke directed at the company in a tweet on his Twitter account:

On May 15, 2021, federal judge Mark L. Wolf announced that he would hold a hearing on May 20 and ordered Twitter executives to appear at the hearing to make Twitter explain whether it is a truly private company or is acting on behalf of the State to illegally censor conservative voices.  The hearing comes in the wake of a lawsuit filed against Twitter by Dr. Shiva Ayyadurai, who ran as the Republican candidate for the US Senate in Massachusetts in the 2020 presidential election and whose tweets pointing out Democrat election fraud were censored by Twitter; it was later discovered that the tweets were deleted on orders from employees of the Massachusetts Secretary of the Commonwealth, leading Ayyadurai to file the suit, pointing out that his First Amendment rights were violated when the Democrat-controlled Massachusetts government silenced him to affect an election.  By quoting the connected cases of Manhattan Cmty. Access Corp. v. Halleck and Blum v. Yaretsky in the upcoming hearing, this could have spelled the end of Section 230 immunity protections for Twitter and other liberal Big Tech companies (which has given Big Tech immunity from lawsuits, but has allowed them to abuse that immunity at will through its illegal censorship of conservative voices and factual information while allowing liberal views (including violent posts, liberal hate speech and even death threats) and fake news from the liberal media free reign, as well as allowing liberal politicians to use Big Tech as a conduit to silence political opponents via special portals offered to government officials, which they then use to flag and delete any content they do not like).  The Gateway Pundit pointed out in its report on this story:

President Donald Trump brought even more attention to the social networking site, and drew both more conservatives and critics. He was well-known for his plentiful, blunt, and oft humorous tweets, and made it a regular practice to communicate with the public using Twitter, even before his political career. He became quite popular on Twitter, with over 26 million followers. He was illegally banned from Twitter on January 6th, 2021, after the mostly peaceful Capitol building protests.

Parag - New chief at Twitter in 2021[1]
NYT bought its Twitter followers to fake influence

Twitter, Inc. is a Big Tech social networking tool, controlled until recently by liberals (see below), which emerged as a new medium of online news distribution but has been infested by trolls and fake accounts. The claimed numbers of followers of liberal figures on it are falsely inflated, such that one audit in 2022 concluded that nearly half of Joe Biden’s Twitter followers are fake.[2]

As a free microblogging website, Twitter users can submit messages containing 140 characters or less to their followers, was co-founded by Jack Dorsey and Evan Williams. Twitter is a privately funded startup established by Obvious.com in San Francisco, on March 21, 2006.[3][4] Under liberal control, official Twitter policy was supportive of anarcho-Marxism, was intolerant of dissidence (see liberal censorship), and lacked diversity of opinion. As of mid-2020 Twitter has enjoyed Section 230 immunity from prosecution for its election interference and other abuses, as well as monopoly control. There has been widespread discontent over Twitter's abuses of the public trust under its previous liberal ownership. It has been characterized as the "Wuhan wet market of ideas."[5] Dorsey eventually resigned from running the site, although his replacement was even more radical than him. Dorsey's successor clearly stated that he was against the First Amendment and against freedom of speech.[6]

In 2022, entrepreneur/free speech advocate Elon Musk attempted to salvage the project which still has a reported liquidating value of $43 billion.

Usage

On the night of January 8, 2021, during the purge of conservative voices by Big Tech on social media, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo posted this tweet.[7]

As a simple messaging tool, the website states:

Twitter asks one question, "What are you doing?" Answers must be under 140 characters in length and can be sent via mobile texting, instant message, or the web. The result of using Twitter to stay connected with friends, relatives, and coworkers is that you have a sense of what folks are up to but you are not expected to respond to any updates unless you want to.

The Twitter API allows developers to create applications for computers and mobile phones that allow users to filter their Twitter feed, as well as track click-through rates, manage multiple accounts, or log-in to a website using their Twitter login.

Per 2011 figures, they are a fast growing company with over 200 million registered users worldwide, with an average of 65 million tweets daily.[8] As of 2009, the major search engines integrated tweets into the search results. Twitter achieved its first profits by signing search engine contracts with Google and Bing.[9] The company has an enormous market capitalization of 10-15 billion dollars. Twitter has rejected takeover offers worth hundreds of millions of dollars from Google and Facebook.

Many celebrities, national sports figures and members of Congress[10] have verified Twitter accounts and anybody can follow their posts.

The site became such a popular destination that new news articles about Twitter appeared daily. In fact, one tweet by Daniel Knight Hayden, 52, which stated that he would massacre hundreds attending an Oklahoma City Tax Day Tea Party led to him being arrested by the FBI.[11] Tweets of popular celebrities and politicians have also been commented on in the mainstream media.

Under liberal control, Twitter allowed graphic images of child pornography and child sex trafficking on its platform.[12]

Sale to Elon Musk

On April 25, 2022, it was announced that Twitter had been sold to Tesla CEO and SpaceX founder Elon Musk for $43 billion.[13] Earlier in the month, Musk had become the biggest single shareholder of Twitter (with 9.2% of the shares, well over the 2.25% held by Jack Dorsey) when he bought 73 million shares of stock in the company (worth $2.89 billion),[14] but when he attempted to buy more shares, he ran into resistance from several Saudi Arabian Twitter shareholders, which cause Twitter stock to fall.[15] To prevent Musk from buying more shares, Twitter tried to entice him with a seat on its board of directors as part of a deal that would keep him from owning more than 14.9% of its common stock,[16] but Musk turned down that offer, thereby allowing him to buy more Twitter stock.[17] In response, bitter leftist Twitter shareholders attempted to sue Musk for delaying in disclosing the amount of stock he owned in the company.[18]

When Musk announced plans to purchase Twitter outright and turn it into a private company,[19] pro-censorship/anti-free speech leftist company management decided to attempt to implement a "poison pill" to sabotage the transaction and fight for censorship and silencing of conservative voices and allowing the voices of liberals and other enemies of freedom to flourish[20] rather than allow Musk, who is anti-censorship and favors free speech, to buy the company and put an end to that censorship.[21] In response to the "poison pill" move by Twitter, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis threatened to hold the company's board of directors legally accountable for breaching their fiduciary duty.[22] Musk later announced that he would be bringing investor partners into his Twitter bid to thwart the company's "poison pill" sabotage attempt, whose legality was questioned by the Gateway Pundit.[23] In an attempt to protect Twitter and its anti-free speech mandate against a Musk takeover, the Biden regime-controlled Department of Justice and the Securities and Exchange Commission tried to step in by launching frivolous sham investigations against Musk.[24]

In an interview on Fox News, Devin Nunez said, that Trump had encouraged Musk to buy Twitter.[25]

Liberals melt down

When Musk's purchase of Twitter became official, pearl-clutching liberals went into meltdown mode[26] over their loss of control of one of their means of censoring free speech and silencing conservative voices/opinions and factual information.[13] President Donald Trump congratulated Musk on his purchase of Twitter, saying of him "...I hope Elon buys Twitter because he’ll make improvements to it and he is a good man," but he added that he will not return to Twitter, even with the restoration of his account there, choosing instead to stay with his own social media platform Truth Social.[27] As part of the announcement of his Twitter purchase, Musk said, "Free speech is the bedrock of a functioning democracy, and Twitter is the digital town square where matters vital to the future of humanity are debated...", adding in a tweet that "I hope that even my worst critics remain on Twitter, because that is what free speech means".[28] Among the liberals having tantrums over Musk's purchase of Twitter are actress and leftist activist Jameela Jamil, who rage-quit the platform over the announcement in a petulant tweet,[29] liberal race activist Shaun King (a white man who claims to be "black"), who also threw an online hissy-fit and rage-quit Twitter via deletion of his account in response to the Musk purchase,[30] Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (who once delusionally claimed that people who criticize her for her support of socialism and her cluelessness about politics and the real world want to "date" her[31]),[32] and other prominent liberals with online presences such as Joy Reid, Howard Dean, NBC "journalist"/hack Ben Collins, CNN hack Brian Stelter, former Twitter employees Israel Camacho and Laura Gomez and several members of hate group Antifa.[33] Some of the more deranged and immature liberals on Twitter are now calling for Musk to be killed in response to his purchase of the platform.[34]

The meltdown got even worse after Musk asserted the Democrat Party was ‘hijacked by extremists'. And "Palestinian" American liberal MSNBC contributor Dean Obeidallah decided: "It's now 100% clear that Musk is part of the GOP propaganda apparatus."[35]

'Stop hitting on me, I'm really shy': Elon Musk accused AOC of flirting with him when she called him a 'billionaire with an ego problem' and blamed him for an 'explosion of hate crimes' after buying Twitter.[36]

Hypocrisy

Democrat politicians such as Elizabeth Warren, who were in favor of letting Twitter do as it pleased under liberal ownership and did all it could to run interference for it and protect it and its lawless actions against regulation and sanctions by the Trump administration, did an about-face following the Musk purchase and, out of fearful concern of their crimes and misdeeds being exposed (and especially the return of President Trump to Twitter) now that Musk is restoring free speech to the platform and ending censorship there, suddenly and hypocritically became in favor of regulating Twitter, with Warren in particular advocating for a "wealth tax" and regulation of Big Tech that would specifically target Twitter and conservative social media platforms, claiming that Twitter's purchase by Musk and its subsequent restoration of free speech for conservatives would be "...dangerous for our democracy".[37]

First actions

With the Musk takeover, Twitter has begun reinstating conservative accounts that were wrongly suspended under the previous liberal regime for telling the truth about subjects that liberals do not like, such as Democrat election fraud, the contents of Hunter Biden's laptop computer and the damage being done by CCP flu "vaccines", as well as locking down changes to the site's source code to prevent vindictive liberal Twitter employees from doing damage to the platform out of childish spite; among those whose accounts were reinstated include Tucker Carlson, the Babylon Bee[38] and Marjorie Taylor Greene.[39] According to Bizpac Review, there is apparently no longer a Twitter board of directors (who may have either been fired or resigned en masse following the Musk takeover), while embittered Twitter employees childishly vented against their new boss, accusing him of "...being a troll and ignorant of Twitter policies" and criticizing his "...inability to monitor toxicity on the platform" (both of which said employees and their comrades are guilty of themselves by allowing liberals to run wild and do and say as they pleased on Twitter while censoring and silencing conservatives in violation of the First Amendment).[40]

It was later reported that high-profile liberals with Twitter accounts (including celebrities and politicians) were losing followers by the thousands (or even tens of thousands) following the Musk takeover as it was discovered that their so-called "followers" were actually bots created by liberals (including by liberal Twitter employees[41]) to artificially inflate the number of followers of said high-profile liberals to dishonestly make it appear they had larger followings than they really have; the bots are disappearing at a rapid rate ahead of an expected bot purge to be conducted by Musk to eliminate fake Twitter accounts as part of the restoration of free speech to the platform and the end of liberal attempts to crowd out/diminish/censor/silence opposing voices and viewpoints.[42] As part of that swing, over 70% of Republican politicians with Twitter accounts reported gaining followers (including Ohio Congressman Jim Jordan, who saw the biggest single gain with 63,735 followers), while out of 270 Democrat politicians on Twitter, 268 lost followers (including Nancy Pelosi and Bernie Sanders, who lost 14,432 and 21,640 respectively) due to the disappearance of the bot accounts.[43] Following the Musk takeover, European Union Commissioner of the Internal Market Thierry Breton claimed that the EU would attempt to ban Twitter from operating in Europe through its specious use of regulations, a move which drew praise from Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.[44]

On April 27, 2022, Musk condemned Twitter censorship of NY Post’s Hunter laptop story: ‘Obviously incredibly inappropriate.’ Top Twitter executive Vijaya Gadde was said to be responsible for the decision in 2020.[45]

On May 10, 2022, Musk announced that he was restoring Donald Trump's Twitter account, ending the suspension that had been illegally imposed by its employees during the Jack Dorsey regime following the events of January 6, 2021.[46]

On MSNBC's Mehdi Hassan

After Islamic Mehdi Hasan, on MSNBC, used his rhetoric against the GOP and inserted, somehow, the words "neo-Nazis" ... Elon Musk replied: "NBC basically saying Republicans are Nazis …"[47] He slammed NBC over the scandals after host Mehdi Hassan says he’ll hand Twitter ‘to the far right.[48]

Miscellaneous

Just before the sale, B911 asked if it will be still denounced (such as by the left) as a supposed "Russian bot" after 12 years of tweeting.[49]

At American Thinker, it warned:[50]
Do not expect the establishment to surrender; they will not let go without a prolonged dirty war, like the one they are still waging against Trump.
Actor/comedian/commentator Terrence K. Williams tweeted:[51]
Elon Musk is the first African American to own a large social media platform. He is one of my favorite African Americans and it’s sad to see so many people on the left attacking him during this Historic moment.

Prominence

In its early days Republicans were more adept at utilizing Twitter than Democrats. Republicans occupy 18 of the top 20 spots in terms of followers for politicians on Twitter as of January 2010.[52] The study, "Twongress: The Power of Twitter in Congress,"[53] showed twice as many Republicans use Twitter even though there were far fewer Republicans in Congress at the time. "Republican (members of Congress) are outpacing their Democratic rivals in nearly every single category that was measured" [54] This has ushered a markedly different trend for Republicans, who for years have been outmatched by Democrats online.

Conservatives on Twitter

Conservatives dominate on Twitter.[55] Some observers claim that liberals, who use wordy statements, have a hard time explaining themselves in 140 characters but it is to a conservative's advantage to articulate short and concise messages. Conservative words and phrases constantly make the top trending hashtags. As such, liberal tools are employed such as false flagging an account in large numbers.[56][57] This results in the banning of popular conservatives, commonly referred to as Twitter's Gulag.

Conservative dominance was especially troubling for the campaign of Barack Obama. The Obama campaign loved to take full advantage of social networking to get their message out to the masses. Nearly every time Team Obama promoted a hashtag, such as #dontdoublemyrate, conservatives would hijack the message.[58] A quick search would result in thousands of satirical responding tweets drowning out the Obama campaign's message with mockery.

Twitter's then-head Jack Dorsey admitted that his company was "left-leaning."[59]

Notably, Twitter banned conservative James Woods for a mild comment in relation to the extreme unpunished statements made frequently by leftists.[60] The site blocked numerous other conservative figures.[61]

Shadow banning

For a more detailed treatment, see Shadow banning.

Several Twitter engineers were filmed admitting to the practice of shadow banning by Project Veritas.[62] Many examples exist of Twitter banning or temporarily blocking conservative individuals.[63]

Censorship

2020 Presidential election interference

See also: 2020 Presidential election

Twitter imposed new dracoian censorship measures aimed at conservative users in October 2020.[64] One example is labeling criticism of mail-in balloting as ‘misinformation’. James Woods commented the new labeling is clear:

“They are closing down conservative voices completely now. Be prepared that you will no longer be able to see most of my communications, if indeed my account remains open at all. Sorry, folks, but it’s over. And they couldn’t care less what you think. This is the face of tyranny.”[65]

For the first time in American history social media companies took direct action against a major U.S. publisher,[66] The New York Post when it published a story on Biden-Burisma scandal.[67] The Post is among the top five newspapers by circulation in the United States. Twitter locked the account of the New York Post, banning the paper from posting any content at all. The Post's remained locked out of its account for 16 days. account remained locked.[68] These actions raised serious questions about many social media platforms future Section 230 immunity status.

Twitter and Facebook interfered in the 2020 presidential election by blocking links to the article.[69][70] Twitter and Facebook both had many foreign stockholders.[71] Twitter banned people who posted The New York Post story,[72] including White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany for sharing the article,[73] locked the Trump Campaign account less than 3 weeks before the 2020 Presidential election.[74] Rep. Jim Jordan posted the Biden-Burisma story on a federal government website after Twitter censored the House Judiciary GOP, at which point the link was promptly censored by Twitter.[75] Wikipedia editors censored the Hunter Biden bombshell, and called the New York Post an ‘unreliable’ source.[76] Google also was reported to be meddling in U.S. Senate elections.[77] The Senate Judiciary Committee announced that Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey would be subpoenaed to explain the meddling.[78] Former James Comey general counsel James A. Baker (DOJ), who was complicit in the Obamagate and FISA abuse scandals, is Twitter's lead counsel.[79] The RNC made a formal complaint to the Federal Elections Commission which reads in part,

"Respondent’s feud with President Trump is well known, as are its frequent efforts to censor the President’s tweets and the “shadow banning” of prominent Republicans, including RNC’s Chair, Ronna McDaniel, and several Republican Members of Congress. Respondent’s CEO, Jack Dorsey, and other senior executives are prolific donors to the Democrat party and other left-wing causes, with 98.7% of the company’s total political contributions going to Democrats. In addition, there appears to be a revolving door between the Biden campaign and the company, with Respondent’s Public Policy Director recently leaving to join the Biden transition team and Senator Kamala Harris’s former Press Secretary now serving as Respondent’s Senior Communications Manager."[80]

Twitter failed to act on a viral message posted on its platform containing a doctored image purporting to be a text message between Rudy Giuliani and Ivanka Trump.[81] The New York Post, Gateway Pundit, and Big League Politics all were placed on Twitter's suspension hit list the final week before election day.[82]

Violations of Section 230

See also: Social media censorship

In May 2020, Twitter and its CEO Jack Dorsey came under heavy criticism for the company's recent decision to begin inserting "fact-checking" links into the tweets made by President Trump, with the company claiming those tweets to be "misleading" despite the exposure by Project Veritas of Democrat-led voter fraud proving otherwise,[83][84] after Trump tweeted about recent concerns over the intent by the Democrat Party to commit voter fraud at the federal, state and local levels through the use of mail-in ballots during the 2020 Presidential election.[85] The "fact-checking" links in question lead to an "information" page containing links from liberal media outlets such as CNN, MSNBC, the New York Times and the Washington Post, all of which indulge in publishing factually-devoid and misleading fake news hit pieces and opinion pieces masquerading as "news" regarding the mail-in vote scandal[86] to fit their anti-Trump narratives.[87] This decision also had the inadvertent outcome of embarrassing Twitter employee Yoel Roth, who was outed as having falsely accused Trump officials, including Presidential counselor Kellyanne Conway, of being "Nazis" in past tweets he posted.[88] Trump, who accused Twitter of openly trying to interfere with free elections and illegally impeding free speech, responded to Twitter's tampering with his tweets by announcing that he may place Twitter and similar social media companies under heavy regulation or shut them down altogether to punish them for their extreme liberal bias and illegal censorship (in violation of the First Amendment) of conservative speech and thought.[89] Republican Florida senator Marco Rubio also weighed in on the controversy, saying that Twitter could lose its liability protections for choosing to act as a publisher by exercising editorial control through its tampering with Trump's tweets.[90][91]

Twitter's illegal actions led directly to Trump signing an Executive Order on May 28, 2020 with the intent of bringing Twitter, Facebook, Google (and its YouTube subsidiary) and other leftist-controlled social media companies to heel with a new policy on the conduct of those companies and putting an end to both their illegal censorship and silencing of conservatives and their liberal bias in allowing violent leftists to basically have the run of those sites without consequence or responsibility.[92] Predictably, Twitter and Facebook reacted negatively toward the Trump Executive Order, with Twitter accusing the order of being "a reactionary and politicized approach to a landmark law (Section 230(c) of the Communications Decency Act)" and claiming, without evidence, that "Attempts to unilaterally erode (Section 230(c)) threaten the future of online speech and Internet freedoms" while ignoring that, under the Obama regime, Section 230(c) had been perverted and used by liberals in public office to impose acceptance of liberal agendas such as abortion on demand, gender confusion, "climate change", unfair taxation of wealth and the homosexual agenda on the American public and to themselves threaten online speech and Internet freedoms by ordering Twitter and other social media companies to illegally censor, silence, persecute and punish dissenting voices who disagreed with and opposed the imposition of those agendas. President Trump responded to Twitter's irresponsible actions with a strong rebuke directed at the company in a tweet on his Twitter account:

Twitter is doing nothing about all of the lies & propaganda being put out by China or the Radical Left Democrat Party. They have targeted Republicans, Conservatives & the President of the United States. Section 230 should be revoked by Congress. Until then, it will be regulated![93]

Despite the Trump Executive Order, however, Twitter and its employees continued to openly defy the President and engage in illegal censorship and lawless behavior by hiding visibility of the content of two tweets by Trump (and later, taking things even further by illegally deleting recent Trump tweets entirely[94]) while hypocritically continuing to allow openly violent leftist tweets to remain intact,[95] even allowing criminal looters and rioters to use the site to openly coordinate their criminal behavior while their supporters advised them of looting targets[96] and while Twitter did nothing to stop them despite numerous reports against those tweets, which left Twitter and its employees, including Jack Dorsey himself, open to criminal, civil and regulatory liability for their defiant and irresponsible actions.

Rep. Matt Gaetz filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission alleging election meddling in the 2020 presidential election. The complaint reads,

Twitter has taken upon itself to free ride on one of the President’s Tweets as a campaigning activity. The social media platform is overstepping boundaries and setting aside its privileged role as a mere ‘interactive computer service,’ and instead acting as a ‘shadow contributor’ to the Democratic National Committee. By trespassing its role as a [Section] 230 protected forum, Twitter has acted as a campaign contributor, and not as a mere interactive computer service.[97]

A study from the Media Research Center showed that Twitter and Facebook censored President Donald Trump and the president’s affiliated campaign accounts at least 65 times in 2019 and 2020, while leaving Biden untouched.[98]

Potential revocation of non-publisher immunity

On May 15, 2021, federal judge Mark L. Wolf announced that he would hold a hearing on May 20 and ordered Twitter executives to appear at the hearing to make Twitter explain whether it is a truly private company or is acting on behalf of the State to illegally censor conservative voices.[99] The hearing comes in the wake of a lawsuit filed against Twitter by Dr. Access Corp. v. Halleck[100] and Blum v. Yaretsky[101] in the upcoming hearing, this could have spelled the end of Section 230 immunity protections for Twitter and other liberal Big Tech companies (which has given Big Tech immunity from lawsuits, but has allowed them to abuse that immunity at will through its illegal censorship of conservative voices and factual information while allowing liberal views (including violent posts, liberal hate speech and even death threats) and fake news from the liberal media free reign, as well as allowing liberal politicians to use Big Tech as a conduit to silence political opponents via special portals offered to government officials, which they then use to flag and delete any content they do not like). The Gateway Pundit pointed out in its report on this story:

Dr. Ayyadurai is claiming that the Constitution trumps CDA 230 and the government cannot outsource to private actors to silence people’s speech they disagree with, and that the government and Twitter are acting together as one: that Twitter is essentially a state actor.[99]

Trump v. Twitter

Twitter censorship of the Russia-Ukraine war.[102]

In the case of Trump v. Twitter, filed in July 2021, attorneys for President Trump argued,

"[The companies have] unprecedented power over the content of public discourse to censor constitutionally protected speech with impunity, resulting in a grave threat to the freedom of expression and to democracy itself."[103]

On Apr 29, 2022, days after Twitter takeovet by Elon Musk, Trump posted "I'm back."[104] - invoking one of his most viral Twitter moments in his first post on TRUTH Social since the platform, founded by the former president, fully launched.

Hunter Biden laptop

Twitter justified blocking the New York Post's scoop on the Biden Burisma scandal claiming it violated Twitter's "Hacked Material Policy." The policy “prohibits the use of our service to distribute content obtained without authorization” because, they said, they “don’t want to incentivize hacking by allowing Twitter to be used as distribution for possibly illegally obtained materials.” That standard would result in the banning from the platform the Pentagon Papers which ultimately toppled Richard Nixon, the Snowden reporting, the Panama Papers, the DNC and Podesta emails that exposed corruption and forced the 2016 resignation of the top five officials of the Democratic National Committee, and President Trump's tax returns.

The Jack Dorsey years

Jack Dorsey refused to ban the Taliban terrorist organization from Twitter.

Dick Costolo became CEO in 2010. He was formerly a Google executive.[105]

In a July 2012 interview with the Wall Street Journal Twitter's CEO explained his future plans. The paper noted, "Twitter executives still fight a perception that the service is only for tech geeks or narcissists, and there remain doubts about how big the San Francisco company can grow."[105] Twitter wants to encourage users to communicate about particular events while they happen. Twitter plans to encourage independent application developers to use Twitter as a platform. It hopes to add tools to allow companies to analyze messages that discuss particular companies and events.[105]

Misleading investors

In September 2021 Twitter disclosed a binding agreement to settle a class-action lawsuit, under which the social network wOULD pay $809.5 million to resolve claims it provided misleading user-engagement info to investors.

The original lawsuit, filed in 2016 by a Twitter shareholder, alleged Dorsey and others including former CEO Dick Costolo and board member Evan Williams hid facts about Twitter’s slowing user growth while they sold their personal stock holdings “for hundreds of millions of dollars in insider profits.”[106]

Donald Trump

President Donald Trump brought even more attention to the social networking site, and drew both more conservatives and critics. He was well-known for his plentiful, blunt, and oft humorous tweets, and made it a regular practice to communicate with the public using Twitter, even before his political career. He became quite popular on Twitter, with over 26 million followers. He became so popular, in fact, that searching just the letter "r", the fist letter of his username,"@realDonaldTrump" returned him as the first search suggestion. He was illegally banned from Twitter on January 6th, 2021, after the mostly peaceful Capitol building protests.

Under liberal ownership, Twitter’s corrupt senior executives and other employees have a long history of anti-Trump hatred, a New York Post review of dozens of accounts of top employees found.[107] The venom, vitriol and, in some cases, vows to help Joe Biden win the 2020 presidential election while said employees behave like emotionally-stunted preschool children online was enabled and encouraged by Jack Dorsey himself.

“GET HIM OUT,” posted a senior site reliability engineer on August 18, 2020 “What a f---king baboon.” One manager with nine years on the job said he was quite keen to watch Biden “crush [Trump] in the election” and that he hoped the President would “be utterly humiliated while also suffering greatly from #COVID19.” He vulgarly and immaturely called Trump “a f---king idiot” and the voters who elected him — “hysterically f–--king stupid people.” Others publicly wished the President harm. One Twitter engineering manager, displaying his own childishness, said Trump should “die in a fire” in a January 2017 tweet. A year later, he rang in the new year by falsely claiming “Happy 2018! Donald Trump is dead!”

None of these comments were ever flagged by Twitter or been subject to any other form of official sanction, even as the social-media giant unjustly dished out discipline to others for sharing legitimate news stories about Joe Biden. After a fly landed on Vice President Mike Pence’s head during his debate with Sen. Kamala Harris, the Twitter vice president noted crudely that flies are “drawn to sh-t.”

Spreading misinformation, lies and libel about the Trump family was common. A senior staff engineer inquired why the media wasn’t looking into Melania Trump’s “possible stint as a sex worker.” The First Lady denied this allegation and successfully sued over it. Twitter’s “head of integrity” Yoel Roth, who helped author the policy update used by the company to flag and label posts from President Trump, compared White House officials to "Nazis" and Trump to a “racist tangerine.”

Racist Twitter Admins permanently banned a Black Cuban GOP congressional candidate.

Racist administrators

Racist Twitter administrators banned a pro-Trump Afro-Cuban GOP congressional candidate. Enrique Tarrio was permanently suspended by the digital platform without reason.[108] Tarrio said in a statement,

Big-tech has proven once again cannot be trusted with elections. The seat I am running for is extremely winnable. I am the front-runner in the GOP primary and they are clearly trying to silence our campaign in favor of Never Trumpers.

The mountain we have to climb to get through this primary and then defeat our Democrat opponent in the general election is made that much more difficult. Regardless, I will not relent and I will make sure we remained focused on implementing the America First agenda.”

CCP propaganda and covid coverup

In 2019, leading up to the 30th anniversary of the Tiananmen Square massacre, Twitter suspended multiple accounts critical of China's Communist regime.[109]

In December 2021, Alex Berenson, a former science writer for the New York Times, filed a lawsuit against Twitter after he was suspended for posting the results of Pfizer COVID vaccine clinical tests.[110]

Dr. Robert Malone is the inventor of the nine original mRNA vaccine patents, which were originally filed in 1989, including both the idea of mRNA vaccines and the original proof of principle experiments, and RNA transfection. Dr. Robert Malone has close to 100 peer-reviewed publications which have been cited over 12,000 times.

Since the CCP pandemic outbreak in January 2020, Dr. Malone has been lead a large team focused on clinical research design, drug development, computer modeling and mechanisms of action of repurposed drugs for the treatment of COVID-19.

Dr. Malone is the Medical Director of The Unity Project, a group of 300 organizations across the United States standing against mandated Covid vaccines for children. Dr. Malone is also the President of the Global Covid Summit, an organization of over 16,000 doctors and scientists committed to speaking truth to power about Covid pandemic research and treatment.

In December 2021, Dr. Malone was banned for life by Twitter.

Antifa riots

See also: 2020 Antifa riots

Twitter facilitated communications between leftwing terrorists during the 2020 Antifa riots and blocked or restricted tweets in support of restoring law and order and protecting innocent lives.

Twitter was recently listed as one of numerous leftist-controlled companies that went "woke" and began supporting the criminal rioters of Antifa and Black Lives Matter in the wake of the 2020 leftist riots.[111]

Bigotry

Under liberal control, Twitter was used as a prominent platform used by extremists and misogynists for the promotion of discrimination against women, particularly in the area of girls' and women's athletic competition.

Iranian protesters

Iranian protesters angered by the results of Iran's disputed presidential election started to tweet marches on the government. This forced the oppressive Islamic Republic dictatorship block all cell phone messaging in June 2009, as tweets can also be submitted via text message. At the request of the U.S. State Department, Twitter delayed scheduled maintenance to allow tweets from Iranians.

In a separate incident, a group calling itself "Iranian Cyber Army", hacked into Twitter and defaced their homepage. They replaced the page with a bold pro-Iranian and anti-American message.[112]

Loss of immunity in India

Twitter lost its immunity as an intermediary in India and became exposed to legal liability for any content published on its platform in June 2021.[113] Twitter's snubbing of Indian law has been described as "neo-colonialist."
