Underground can refer to a number of things:

  • An underground railway. In particular, the London subway system is commonly known as "The Underground".
  • A cabal fighting against those in power. The meaning can refer to beneficial groups such as the French Underground during the German occupation of World War II, or terrorist organizations, such as the Weather Underground in the U.S. in the 1960s.
  • The condition of being beneath the ground.
