The '''United States Secretary of Commerce''' is head of the [[Department of Commerce]] and a member of the [[United States Cabinet|Presidential Cabinet]]. The current secretary, as of 2017, is [[Wilbur Ross]], serving under Republican President [[Donald Trump]]. 

Obama nominated two people to fill the position; Gov. [[Bill Richardson]] and Republican Sen. [[Judd Gregg]].  Richardson withdrew when he was caught in a [[Pay for play]] scandal. Gregg cited disputes over the 2010 census and economic stimulus plan.
