My Editing Philosophy

  • Noncontroversial edits are usually ok
  • I will always follow the Guidelines and Commandments
  • I won't change work from the editors who are never wrong, unless I really, really, really know what I am doing
  • I won't edit or comment on essay pages; they are supposed to be opinion
    • Corollary 1: I will petition for mainspace opinion pieces to be moved to the essay space
    • Corollary 2: I will realize that certain main space opinion pieces... won't be moved to the essay space
  • I will point out and correct when an article is unencyclopedic, but will back down when defending my action is futile
  • I will point out and correct when an article does not follow the Guidelines or Commandments, but will back down when defending my action is futile
  • I will not treat someone's work differently because of their "status"; this is a community project
  • I will not revert anything added to a talk page, unless a user swears or edits another user's words
  • There is no official block policy, so I will use my own judgement for blocking people
  • I will never block someone for being non-conservative (for starters, I would have to block myself)
  • I will never block someone for expressing their opinion, as long as it is civil
  • I will never block someone for violating the 90/10 rule
  • I will never block someone who has had no edits, unless their name is offensive or inflamatory
  • I will never block someone for being a sock unless I am 110% sure (as I have had bad experiences with this in the past, and as I have no checkuser powahs)
  • I will never block someone for referring to or showing up on That Which Shall Not Be Named (and no, I can't tell you what it is, and no, I can not give you any hints)
  • If a block is properly given, then no apology should ever be needed as an unblocking condition
  • I will not unblock myself if blocked by a sysop

Some who think they are more rational than me may say that I'm a wimp for backing down. I say the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again while expecting a new result.

About Me

  • I am a libertarian, and very much so!
    • Actually, I'm a social and economic conservative. The difference between me and most conservatives is not what I believe, but where I think the government should step in for my beliefs.
    • Feel free to ask me about my positions. I love talking politics with open-minded, rational people
  • I (still) support Ron Paul for Republican Presidential nominee
    • I'm currently undecided as to whom I will vote for, but I will never vote for Obama, Nader, any Green Party candidate, or any left-wing candidates (aka Socialist party and those other wingnuts). The only wingnut I might vote for is Bob Barr, but from what little I know about him, he's kind of a "blah" candidate.
  • In 2008 I graduated from Bucknell University with a bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering
