Christian Feasts

I was a little bit disappointed that Pentecost didn't make the Main Page, even after I had mentioned it: see Talk:Main_Page#Pentecost....

I'd like to see the Christian Feasts being honored on the Main Page, be it by a masterpiece, a link to an article, etc.: the next will be Trinity Sunday. Any ideas?

Thanks, --AugustO 08:42, 21 May 2013 (EDT)

Good suggestions. Often this will depend on what else is in the news, or what other entries editors are spending their time on at a particularly moment. Other websites on the internet are purely religious sites.--Andy Schlafly 10:48, 21 May 2013 (EDT)

Conservapedia Proven Right

Mr. Schlafly,
I wanted to apologize if my past edit offended you or damaged the project. It was never my intent to remove information from the table, but only to enhance the layout and supplement the content through additional citations. I have also apologized on the talk page of the article, but I thought I owed you a direct apology as well.

Additionally, I still have a desire to improve the article. I have posted a proposed plan on the talk page, and I would be very grateful for your input. I eagerly await your suggestions.

Sincerely, WilliamWB 11:27, 23 May 2013 (EDT)

„Jesus prayed, often publicly, for people”

Andrew Schlafly, you claimed that „Jesus prayed, often publicly, for people”. I'm still interested in an example for this - as you said that this happened often, you should be able to provide us with one. To be more precise: I don't want examples of Jesus blessing or giving thanks ( εὐλογέω - like in Matthew 14:19) or laying hands upon someone (ἐπιτίθημι χεῖρας - like in Matthew 19:15), I'd like to see an example of Jesus praying (προσεύχομαι) publicly for people.

Could you please give us a verse? Thank you. --AugustO 15:40, 24 May 2013 (EDT)

For example, Jesus routinely prayed in public before each meal.--Andy Schlafly 21:32, 24 May 2013 (EDT)
 • „I don't want examples of Jesus blessing or giving thanks
 • „I'd like to see an example of Jesus praying (προσεύχομαι) publicly for people
 • „Could you please give us a verse?”
As you can see, your answer doesn't match the question. --AugustO 22:45, 24 May 2013 (EDT)
Try John 8-14 (Translated)#11:41 - when Jesus very publicly prays to and thanks God prior to raising Lazarus from the dead.--Andy Schlafly 23:45, 24 May 2013 (EDT)

I wonder if he'd be satisfied with John 17:11-17:
 • Holy Father, keep them in your name, which you have given me, that they may be one, even as we are one. 12 While I was with them, I kept them in your name, which you have given me. I have guarded them, and not one of them has been lost except the son of destruction, that the Scripture might be fulfilled. 13 But now I am coming to you, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have my joy fulfilled in themselves. 14 I have given them your word, and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. 15 I do not ask that you take them out of the world, but that you keep them from the evil one. 16 They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. 17 Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth. [1]
Perhaps there aren't as many transcripts of our Lord's specific prayers as we'd all like. --Ed Poor Talk 19:46, 26 May 2013 (EDT)

My faith is VERY IMPORTANT to me

I may be a "liberal" Christian but I am devout, but some articles (guess by who?) suggest I am more associated with Satan them I am Jesus. I will not stand for it any longer--Patmac 09:34, 26 May 2013 (EDT)

Dear Mr. Schlafly,

Can you please unprotect this page? I would like to update it with information about VY and Shock's chatroom that has come to light at Talk:Main Page. If this is not desirable, then I would suggest unprotecting the page (which is currently sourced only to a single page on an anonymous blog) so that a more verifiable article can be written in its place (and perhaps if I can get a hold of Conservative, he can point me to reliable sources). Thanks, GregG 21:28, 31 May 2013 (EDT)

Dead link

Can you do anything with this: Template:Dead link? --JoeyJ 14:02, 1 June 2013 (EDT)

What is wrong with it?--Andy Schlafly 16:20, 1 June 2013 (EDT)
Maybe you can expand it. In Wikipedia there is a category for articles with dead links --JoeyJ 09:00, 2 June 2013 (EDT)
I've done it. If Mr. Schlafly or someone else wants to change the exact name of the category, they can go ahead. Onward 09:25, 2 June 2013 (EDT)

My talk

Could you restore my talk page, actually? A nice little memento from the hoopla. :) Onward 20:24, 1 June 2013 (EDT)

A copy from my post on Main page talk

Conservative still goes on with his hatred, I will get blocked for this but here is my promise, I will wait 3 days and if after that time this users hatred is not completely removed from this site I am going to report Conservapedia to the Southern Poverty Law Center and request it is designated a hate group.--Patmac 11:28, 3 June 2013 (EDT)

I would have preferred to send these messages to you in person but I cannot find an email for you so it has to be done here, I have requested you do something before but have been constantly ignored. Lets face it Andy, despite not holding office you are very much a politician, and what does a politician do when a subordinate constantly jeopardizes his position? He gits rid.--Patmac 11:41, 3 June 2013 (EDT)
Conservapedia supports and defends the full right to free speech, and urges liberal groups to do likewise.--Andy Schlafly 12:16, 3 June 2013 (EDT)

This is not free speech, this is hate speech. When i read that Jesus eats and spits out moderate Christians that is hate speech, and it also brings the name of our saviour into disrepute. He does not just attack evolutionists and atheists, he attacks Christians, to the extent that we are not Christians at all. "Liberal" Christianity and marital infidelity, "Liberal" Christianity and whore mongering, "Liberal" Christianity and bestiality, need i say more? But if someone dare challenge his position, he blocks them, how is that free speech? I think you personally have some pretty strange ideas but you do allow them to be challenged without going on a hate spree, and you are to be respected for that. But constantly allowing Conservative to post his vile tirade, however free it may be, just undermines Conservatives and by extension your image.--Patmac 12:32, 3 June 2013 (EDT)

This user Pacmac is blocked indefinitely. Apparently, he thinks he can define what hatred is, even so far as to saying that the above reference concerning Jesus constitutes "hate speech". This is the place in the Bible where it comes from, Revelation, Chapter 2:
14 And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;
15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
What it means is that this user is trying his best to stop any mention of the Bible unless this mention is done in accordance with his liberal philosophy; which means that the above Revelation verses are null and void. He further threatens to call the SPLC on us if we don't behave in according to his whims, i.e. one hate filled individual calling a hate-filled organization to complain about our alleged hate against his own hate-filled ideas.
Patmac had also forgotten about our First Amendment RIGHTS to FREE SPEECH, FREEDOM OF RELIGION, and FREEDOM TO ASSEMBLE. He's so filled with hate himself that he would demand the SPLC to try to stop us from enjoying those rights. As far as I'm concerned, he failed. And he can continue failing somewhere else. Karajou 13:12, 3 June 2013 (EDT)
Firstly, let me say that I do not endorse user:Patmac`s tactics of legal threats. They have no place on a wiki, and should instead be sent to the site's owner (Mr. Schlafly) by email. However, as per hate speech and the Bible, it is clear that the Bible condemns churches who do not uphold the tenets of Christianity, but on the other hand, who is User:C to decide which churches are not upholding these tenets? brenden 13:43, 3 June 2013 (EDT)

This is an opportunity for Andy to show some leadership in setting a path that de-escallates the conflict here. On the one hand, Patmac is absolutely right about the intemperate nature of User:C's comments. On the other hand, Patmac's frustration with the failure to address that problem led him to make intemperate remarks as well. I suggest that we forgive Patmac for his transgression, and address whether User:C's edits are consistent with the fundamental commandments of Conservapedia. This is not a "Free Speech" issue. User:C is free to express his views on his private blog. Our question is whether CP should endorse and republish some sharp comments as the views of the entire project. Can you please nuke

ReymeDneK's contributions? Thanks, GregG 10:15, 5 June 2013 (EDT)

There is a dispute between myself and user:Markman regarding User:Rafael's block. Could you please provide some guidance? Thanks, brenden 15:34, 6 June 2013 (EDT)

See this edit. Clear case of incivility. Considering his previous record I'd say he should be banned for at least a week if not more. I would have given him a lifetime ban but unfortunately there are too many editors with blocking rights who seem to be determined to subvert Conservapedia's rules. Interestingly enough, many of those editors are also in cordial relations with the RW userbase. - Markman 15:42, 6 June 2013 (EDT)
You should also point out that, aside from you, the only other person who has given Rafael a block, was DamianJohn, and a now outed parodist. As per "determined to subvert Conservapedia's rules", I would suggest that you re-read the rules. I still haven't forgotten your bullying of AlanE. brenden 15:48, 6 June 2013 (EDT)
"You should also point out that, aside from you, the only other person who has given Rafael a block, was DamianJohn, and a now outed parodist." Come on darling, don't be afraid to call the parodist by his name - Dvergne. The same Dvergne who sided with you and with AlanE against me. So you're basically admitting to both associating with a liberal website and with parodists. - Markman 15:54, 6 June 2013 (EDT)
As far as I understand, User:Dvergne, Karajou, and myself were chastising you for spamming uncited specifically on AlanE's contributions. Are you insinuating that Karajou is "associating with a parodist"?? Furthermore, once again, you have shown yourself unwilling to read that userpage, that explains my goals on that website specifically. In case you can't see that website, I have the words reproduced below:

==Wat?== *Why are you here? :I'd rather not be impersonated, and I would like a word in this place. *What are you doing at Conservapedia? :I do enjoy thought exercises. While Conservapedia does go in a little overboard at times, I still have faith in it. I feel that the only reason that Conservapedia's problems are so famous, are because of the inordinate amount of trolls and parodists, trying their best to write something so ridiculous, that their comrades might congratulate them. That, and the continued threats by certain people at certain websites, to (blocked by spam filter), and harrass the precarious community at Conservapedia, have not helped the situation. One of my goals there is to rectify that. brenden 16:00, 6 June 2013 (EDT)

Your other edits on that website reveal a different story. Your cordial relations with the RW userbase shows that you're one of them. - Markman 16:04, 6 June 2013 (EDT)
In the days of TK your admiting you are even reading that site would have earnt you a ban. Davidspencer 16:05, 6 June 2013 (EDT)
On the contrary, I have been called a dick, a parodist, a "smarmy little prefect", among other things. I do my best to present Conservapedia in a positive light, and frankly, are doing a lot more good than Markman, going there to deliberately spread a false impression of a surly, confrontational Conservapedia. brenden 16:06, 6 June 2013 (EDT)
I think that I made my case and I don't need to elaborate any further. I don't only enforce the 90/10 rule but also try to comply with it, so I'll refrain from any further replies until Mr. Schlafly says his word. - Markman 16:09, 6 June 2013 (EDT)
I think that you shouldn't jump the gun, and instead, should wait for Mr. Schlafly's word on this matter. brenden 16:05, 7 June 2013 (EDT)

Community Portal

A sock of Mr. Mason has recently posted some vile attacks on that page. Although I have undid them, someone may want to block that sock and/or take other remedial measures. Thanks, WilliamWB 12:43, 7 June 2013 (EDT)

I wouldn't worry about this. Karajou took a minute or two to learn oversighting. Mr. Mason will now become even more obscure than he already is and rightfully so. Conservative 00:12, 11 June 2013 (EDT)

Arkansas voter ID rulemaking

Dear Mr. Schlafly,

I know you've taken interest in voter ID just as I have, and I found out this week that the Arkansas Secretary of State has proposed rules to implement Arkansas' new voter ID law. [2]. I'm planning on writing up and submitting comments to fix several issues with the rules, and I was wondering whether you were planning on submitting comments or wanted to see what I am writing. Hopefully, if the rules are fixed as I suggest, the voter ID law should survive federal and state court challenges. Thanks, GregG 13:24, 8 June 2013 (EDT)

That's interesting. I wasn't planning on submitting any comments, but I'd be curious to see what you submit. My own view is that voter ID laws are not as significant as early voting laws.--Andy Schlafly 22:36, 8 June 2013 (EDT)

Building content vs. fighting spammers

Andy, I think if Conservapedians could spend more time creating content rather than fighting spammers that they would do so if given the opportunity.

Why don't you add the feature to the wiki that fights spammers that Brenden says works great at his wiki?

Here is the informmation:

I noticed that in the RC, there's been a large amount of spammers. Perhaps implementing QuestyCaptcha, a system that uses questions that Mr. Schlafly chooses, could stem the onslaught. It works excellently at my wiki. Here is the information for this extention: brenden 21:10, 1 June 2013 (EDT)

I hope this helps. Conservative 10:30, 9 June 2013 (EDT)

Quote mining

Dear Mr. Schlafly,

User:Conservative reverted my recent edits without explanation and protected the page. Since there is no way to contact U:C and I don't see it likely that there will be fruitful discussion about improving the article about the logical fallacy of quote mining, I would request that the page be unprotected and that U:C work in collegiality with me to improve the page. Thanks, GregG 11:21, 9 June 2013 (EDT)

There is nothing wrong about quoting the other side and using those quotes to disprove and discredit their position. Some evolutionists pretend there is something wrong with this, yet politicians, attorneys, and any debater properly does this frequently.--Andy Schlafly 13:00, 9 June 2013 (EDT)
I'm glad you are offering your input, and I should probably explain my changes fully on the talk page. Science, law, theology, politics, mathematics, and philosophy are all different systems for answering questions about our world. Each system has its own rules, so what may be a valid argument in law (citing to binding precedent or quoting an authority) is not necessarily valid in science or math. Likewise, logical deduction from axioms is the main way mathematical results are proven, but it has less utility in the other systems of answering questions.
In any event, I think there should be a full discussion on the talk page, and, revisiting this issue, I think that what would probably be best (and what I will therefore request) is for the page protection to automatically expire, say, a week or two from now, and hopefully, the discussion that takes place during this next week will improve the article. Thanks, GregG 13:10, 9 June 2013 (EDT)
EDIT You wrote "politicians, attorneys, and any debater properly does [sic] this frequently." I trust you are familiar with Rule 3.3 of the New Jersey Rules of Professional Conduct. GregG 13:23, 9 June 2013 (EDT)

Try this:

$wgGroupPermissions['*' ]['createpage'] = false; $wgGroupPermissions['user' ]['createpage'] = false; $wgGroupPermissions['autoconfirmed']['createpage'] = true; $wgAutoConfirmAge = 600 ; # Ten Minutes

I disagree with this proposal. I think one of the things that makes wikis so successful is that people can jump in by creating an account and instantly contribute by improving pages. To be honest, I think that there are enough blockers to handle the spam efficiently, but if there needs to be a solution, I would recommend QuestyCaptcha. GregG 17:03, 9 June 2013 (EDT)

It keeps on coming up everytime I add a link to references, is there any way that you can turn it off for my user? I clearly am not a bot or spammer so if you can it would be much appreciated. JAnderson 20:51, 10 June 2013 (EDT)

I'm happy to announce that the Book of Malachi is now fully translated. I would like you to take a look at it and if needed help improve it. Note: not all of the book's translation was done by me, but in the parts that I did translate I changed "LORD of hosts" into "LORD of armies". The Hebrew word "tsvaot" (צבאות) that is sometimes translated into "hosts" actually means "armies". I think that this translation is more accurate, plus it sends a strong anti-pacifist message.

I also see that I can't add Malachi to the list of fully translated books in Template:ConservativeBible. Could you please do that for me? - Markman 06:16, 15 June 2013 (EDT)

Fabulous! I like your correction of the pacifist bias. I've updated the template. Well done!--Andy Schlafly 11:41, 15 June 2013 (EDT)

Recent vandalism spree

We've under a vandalism spree recently. Users involved: SwissE, Namkram, JackieS. I think we should consider a range block in case their IP addressees are dynamic.

I also blocked some users who registered in close proximity to the vandal spree: Mar92vg8br, Numisexpert37, Car9d94nha, NigelM, DennyH. I recommend using checkuser to see if they share IP addressees with the vandals. If not, than those with a proper username should be unblocked while those with an improper username should remain blocked but with their IP unblocked and account creation enabled. - Markman 09:09, 25 June 2013 (EDT)

Please do something about this person. I realise has has been very helpful to you in the Bible Project but he is now blocking long standing and valued contributors on the most spurious of reasons. Davidspencer 15:03, 25 June 2013 (EDT)

Hate to join on but I agree. Markman is a good editor of the bible project but he does engage in block wars and the infighting between Him and Brendan managed to drag me in when he attempted to associate my name is a previously unknown (to me anyway) internet joke. Also, I have serious issue with him questioning my Conservative Ideology simply because I am British and calling British conservatives "sexual degenerates"Ryancsh 20:07, 25 June 2013 (GMT)
And before he comes back with an accusation of me being a sock of another user I have been here for far longer than he has, I may not have been that active a contributor but I am not a parodist. And I am not a sock of anyone on this site I assure you. Davidspencer 15:18, 25 June 2013 (EDT)
I find no need to defend myself from accusations of libs such as yourself. Mr. Schlafly knows what's right, I trust him to act on it. - Markman 15:26, 25 June 2013 (EDT)
Ad hominem attack from someone who quite frankly has no real arguments to defend himself. I may end up perma-banned from this site but the site will be worse in the long run for allowing you to continue editing and stopping those you block for no reason other than your whim. I will now bow out and leave you the last word, I would certainly not want someone to block me for 90-10 (an advisory limit only ayway). Davidspencer 15:31, 25 June 2013 (EDT)

Glad that got cleared out. Kind of off topic, but it came to my attention that some of your family members have a brewery, and that the Schlafly brand has been getting some really good reviews. Don't know how to ask here, so i thought i'd try this page. Who here has a direct line with ShockOfGod or his mods? I figure some of the admins here are cozy to Shock and his mods since it's promoted so heavily. I got banned from his chatroom but it was the strangest thing. I entered the room, someone said "Hi" to me and i said "Hi" back and suddenly I'm banned. It does tell me to contact the Mod that banned me if it was done mistakenly but I barely was in there at all, but the banning was so swift i didn't even get a chance to see who was modding. But if anyone can help, drop me a line. I had wondered if it was cause of my name "Pastor Of Muppets" but i've been there many times under that name with no issue but if that was the case i'd be happy to use another. It's one of the most intellectually stimulating chatrooms I've even been to and I've tried Christian Chatrooms but they suck.--DavidS 14:32, 17 July 2013 (EDT)

I have doubts about your report, but it will be easy to allay my misgivings about the veracity of your report. Simply debate VivaYehshua on the 15 questions for evolutionists and I will gladly relay your message to Shockofgod and/or his mods. Conservative 16:40, 17 July 2013 (EDT)

Eh it's okay if you don't take me at face value. I'm not alleging any misconduct though. If it was done intentionally I know they had their reasons, but it went down exactly as I said it did. Perhaps it was something I said in a prior chat session but i don't see why they'd wait til my next visit to ban me. It happened so quickly I didn't get a chance to figure out who was modding the room to contact them to see what's up. I was just hoping to get in touch with whoever banned me and see if it was a mistake and get it cleared up or to find out what I had done wrong and see if there's anyway to move past it. As much as I suspect that the 15 Questions Debate is merely a quote-mining operation disguised as a honest civil debate to provide material for Shock...if that's what I must do to get back into my favorite chat room, lets do it. Just let me know how. I'll do my best.--DavidS 00:08, 18 July 2013 (EDT)

I will find out VivaYehshua's summer schedule in terms of university class load and/or work. Hopefully, the debate will occur in summer and not fall. But I strongly suspect there will be no debate because you will fail to keep your promise. Conservative 01:45, 18 July 2013 (EDT)
I just found out from one of Shockofgod's moderators that only Shockofgod can unban someone from his chat room. And please give me your country and location in that country and at least an IP range. It will be easier to unban you if Shockofgod decides to do this. Conservative 01:53, 18 July 2013 (EDT)
DavidS/Pastor of Puppets, it just occurred to me that you don't need my help. Just contact Shockofgod though his YouTube channel, Twitter account or blog. He can unban you if it is merited. Conservative 02:08, 18 July 2013 (EDT)
DavidS, one last thing, see if you can get the publicity hound Richard Dawkins to be a part of the debate. Now that he has fallen on hard times in terms of people paying attention to him as can be seen by the traffic to his website, he might be more amenable to debating creationists now. :) Conservative 02:21, 18 July 2013 (EDT)

You can suspect whatever you want, Conservative lol, if it makes you smile, go for it. Thanks for the tip. I appreciate it :)...and....I knew it! You do run the "Question Evolution!" Blog! or at least contribute to it! One of the people who runs it, called me Pastor Of Puppets as well even though there's clearly an M...well either that or you read it religiously, but odd you would remember as a reader such a minute detail, or perhaps its just a coincidence. But no matter :) Unfortunately, I am not in contact with Richard Dawkins....I might suggest it to him if i ever bump into him ;) Hopefully Shock will be open to a dialogue. And yes, I'll keep my word if we can find a schedule that can be agreed upon, to keep my word that I would. But talk is cheap as the saying goes. But believe what you want :) Thank you again :)--DavidS 03:28, 18 July 2013 (EDT)

DavidS/Pastor of Muppets, I was able to get a message to Richard Dawkins when he was busier. Now that interest in him has very significantly waned, you should have no problem reaching him. Stop making excuses. Secondly, if you have any friends at an atheist wiki, you can tell them that I am not a big fan of Shmuley Boteach. I just found the Richard Dawkins and Rabbi Shmuley Boteach debate and the events surrounding it very humorous as Dawkins made a complete fool of himself. Lastly, have you tried to get in contact with Shockofgod via his YouTube channel, Twitter account and blog or were you just engaging in cheap talk? Conservative 18:58, 21 July 2013 (EDT)

I was amused that, when I took Cons to task for his penchant for challenging other people to debates/competitions, and I reminded him of two outstanding challenges from me, he declined those challenges, and suggested that I debate someone named "VivaYehshua" on some topic having to do with some questions. And he suggested that the topic of the debate might be somehow related to evolution, a topic that I have no interest in debating anyone over, since it's an open-and-shut scientific case, and debating it is about as interesting as debating Dalton's atomic theory. However, on further reflection, as Katniss Everdeen said to Rue in the movie, "That sounds tempting." So, could (s)he give me contact information for this person, so that I can contact him, and we can decide whether he wants to debate me, and on exactly what topic? The best thing would be an email address. I assume VivaYehshua would be willing to communicate with me by email; otherwise the chance of successfully setting up a debate would be nil. And Cons has indicated a number of times that (s)he communicates by email with VivaYehshua. Failing that, a postal mail address would probably be OK, or a phone number. I don't do chat rooms, IM, Facebook, Twitter, or things like that.

VivaYehshua may not want to divulge his contact information publicly. Just tell him to contact me at I will keep his contact information in confidence. Though the outcome of the discussions will, of course, be published here at Conservapedia.

SamHB 20:08, 21 July 2013 (EDT)

SamHB, according to the BBC in 2006 (about 150 years since the beginning of Darwinism) just under half of British believed in evolution and Darwinism was birthed in Britain.[4] Furthermore, biblical creation belief, a well founded belief, is rapidly growing in world as is biblical Christianity. See: Global Christianity. Furthermore, theologically conservative creationists are flooding into Western countries.[5] See: Decline of atheism.
You say "I don't do chat rooms, IM, Facebook, Twitter, or things like that." Given the information I cited above, you are in no position to bargain. Creationist set the terms of engagement and certainly not Darwinists. Off to Shockofgod's chat room with you! Let Shockofgod's moderators relay a message to VivaYehshua and let them know when you will be in the chat room next. Alternatively, you can reach Shockofgod via his YouTube account, Twitter account or blog. Conservative 20:29, 21 July 2013 (EDT)
What???? I'm not "bargaining". And I don't care about the BBC. And I'm not "engaging", so no one can "set the terms of engagement". I'm just asking for contact info. If no one here can give it, then I can't contact Viva to see whether there is mutual interest in a debate. And I don't know, or care, who "Shockofgod" (Cons's friends certainly have picturesque names!) is. Too bad. It sounded interesting. SamHB 21:13, 21 July 2013 (EDT)
Given that evolutionists have given empty promises to debate and backed out of debates they agreed to and that Darwinism gets weaker by the day relative to biblical creationism, the onus is on you to follow the simple instructions provided to get in contact with VivaYehshua/Shockofgod. If you don't, I am certainly not going to lose any sleep over it. Conservative 21:33, 21 July 2013 (EDT)

Apostrophes and the Conservative Bible Project

From CBP's guidelines: "Prefer Conciseness over Liberal Wordiness: preferring conciseness to the liberal style of high word-to-substance ratio; avoid compound negatives and unnecessary ambiguities; prefer concise, consistent use of the word "Lord" rather than "Jehovah" or "Yahweh" or "Lord God."" In keeping in line with this guideline, shouldn't CBP's volunteers use apostrophes whenever possible i.e use words such as "don't" instead of "do not" and "won't" instead of "will not"? I think that adopting this policy will greatly increase the conciseness of our new translation. - Markman 16:47, 22 July 2013 (EDT)

Actually, I feel that this is a terrible idea. Whatever prestige the Conservative Bible translation may have had will be obliterated when we find ourselves using informal contractions and the like in the name of "conciseness". brenden 17:20, 22 July 2013 (EDT)
Maybe liberal professors in New Testament studies (who usually adopt doctrines such tolerance of homosexuality, opposition to public prayer and rejection of Biblical innerrancy) will scoff, but the public will be happy to have a Bible translation which is not overly wordy, unlike other translations who are tedious to read. May I remind you that the original Bible wasn't written in the "high" forms of its languages, Mark's Greek was considered quite "vulgar" by the literary standard of the Roman elites. - Markman 17:32, 22 July 2013 (EDT)
That fact that the original Bible was written in a vulgar manner does not change the fact that the Christian community would be rather offended by such a "casual" interpretation of their holy text. brenden 08:25, 23 July 2013 (EDT)
It is interesting that you write "their" when referring to the Christian community, as if you are not a part of it. I'm not saying this in a hostile manner, but if you are not one of us than how can you know what exactly we Christians are thinking about Bible translations? - Markman 14:58, 23 July 2013 (EDT)
Well, I suppose then I can't. Shall I concede defeat then? brenden 15:12, 23 July 2013 (EDT)

Problems viewing CP

I'm having troubles accessing CP for several days. It seems like it won't allow me to access from my home IP (I'm currently editing from a proxy IP, I know it's not exactly Kosher but I have no other option). Do you know what causing this problem? - Markman 14:58, 23 July 2013 (EDT)

I second that. All 4 of the IP locations from which I have been able to view Conservapedia have died, one after another, over the last week or so. It even took two proxies to make this edit. SamHB 20:48, 24 July 2013 (EDT)

Hi, Mr. Schlafly, I'm having trouble accessing CP from my home ISP (Telus corp). I have to use a proxy to even recieve any response from the servers here. Could you please rectify that? Thanks, brenden 02:24, 1 August 2013 (EDT)
Access should work for you now. Thanks for your patience.--Andy Schlafly 20:28, 1 August 2013 (EDT)

Brenden, a helpful rule offered in a spirit of helpfulness: i before e except after c. You misspelled the word "receive". Don't feel bad. I just wrote a Christian webmaster because their website misspells the word on various pages of their website. By the way, I won 4th place in a spelling bee in the past. :) Conservative 06:49, 1 August 2013 (EDT)

The visibility of the site has been going up and down repeatedly, in different ways from different IP addresses. It looks to me as though there is some attempt to have the firewall block certain IP's semi-automatically, perhaps on the basis of a referrer indicator showing ritionalwaki. Though it's not that simple. If it is such a policy, the software attempting to enforce it is behaving ineptly, and is causing collateral damage to innocent viewers.

You might want to turn that policy off. It's not helping Conservapedia. It's just making it invisible to a lot of innocent people who can't see the site. Also, keep in mind that anyone who reads RW knows how to get around the problem; the rest of the world doesn't. (For example, I'm blocked at my 4 primary locations.) You are only harming the site. Here is my analysis of the last 500 items in "recent changes", taken at 11:45 on August 1. This covers almost 5 days, which is telling in itself.

 • user creation events -- 74
 • deletion events -- 39
 • block/revert/protect events -- 97
 • edits to main talk -- 66
 • upload picture, etc -- 5
 • edits (by admins of course) to Mainpage left/right -- 43
 • edits to this talk page -- 7
 • Cons's playpens -- 118
 • edits by admins -- 20
 • edits by "elite" members (those with blocking privileges, that is, editors of long standing) -- 13
 • edits by ordinary people -- 18, or just 3.6%

P.S. For anyone who likes to show off his/her spelling prowess: In addition to the two other challenges that I issued to that person, that he/she declined, here's a third: The page Conservapedia:Commonly misspelled words has a glaring, egregious, notorious misspelling in it. It's been there for years. Can he/she find it?

I'm having the same problem again and I'm currently editing CP with a proxy because I can't access the website from my actual IP. Could you please fix this? - Markman 08:37, 3 August 2013 (EDT)

Please email me at with respect to any access problems, including mention of the specific IP address, and the problem should be quickly resolved. Thanks for your patience.--Andy Schlafly 10:41, 3 August 2013 (EDT)

Thanks, but the problem more or less solved itself. Thanks you anyway for your offers of help. If I'm already writing on this subject, I would just like to tell Sam that he should be ashamed of himself for slandering Mr. Schlafly and suggesting that the current technical problems CP is experiencing are due to incompetence by Mr. Schlafly or deliberate malice on his part. There are plenty of libs who want to destroy CP, including the folks at the wiki you edit. No, I'm not talking about RW, I'm talking about the other one in which you participate, the name of which is not even worthy of being mentioned here. That's right, I know all about your trashing of CP there. You should be ashamed of yourself. Instead of thinking that Mr. Schlafly is somehow to blame for the technical difficulties CP is suffering, it is much more likely that they are caused by anti-CP hackers, probably coming from Sam's liberal wiki (again, not RW but the other one). - Markman 16:36, 5 August 2013 (EDT)
I have intermittent problems, which usually go after after a couple of reloads. Jim245 16:41, 5 August 2013 (EDT)
I am still getting these viewing problems. This has actually made any editing of conservapedia on my behalf near impossible. I'm glad that the issue has resolved itself for most people but it has not ceased for me. I am incredibly lucky that it has decided to work for me in the last 30 minutes but I am tired of a "connection reset" appearing when I normally try to access conservapedia. Could use some help here. Good day Mr. Schlafly,

I would not support him being given these rights - furthermore taking a picture of a vandal site and uploading it here is not appropriate.--IDuan 13:57, 25 July 2013 (EDT)
Wait, why are you against me having upload rights? Even if you disagree with me on NK I don't see what's your beef with me uploading what could be possible evidence against him. If he wants to, Mr. Sclafly can give me upload rights just so that I can upload the screenshot in question and after I do that he can take it away from me. - Markman

Howard Dean page

Just so you know I was editing the Howard Dean page when I found that I was unable to save the page even though I was only making minor grammar fixes; the spam filter was being triggered because of a quote; Howard Dean's infamous "I screamed a scream" speech which he ended by yelling "Yeargh"; the quote stretched out the letters of the "Yeargh" - including a long string of "e"s - which the spam filter doesn't allow (not totally sure why? Probably some crazy website from way back that was being spammed) - so I just removed a few of the "e"s. Problem solved.--IDuan 00:56, 28 July 2013 (EDT)

Foreign Policy

Hello Professor Schlafly, I do not usually contribute here and I'm only an occasional viewer of the wiki (about once a month or so) but I have a quick question and it would be really nice if you could answer it because I'm very interested in foreign policy and people's opinions about it. What foreign philosophy do you and the wiki most advocate? As far as I know, you seem to be against neoconservatives and neutral to a little bit supportive of paleoconservatives. A poll to detect that is linked here. Just click "view your results" without completing the poll and it will show you descriptions of various foreign policies that have been used in the past by powerful people. Concerns About Karajou

I've been talking with Ratio.nalWiki people about the Conservapedia concerns, and posted a conversation I had with Karajou there. In the process, I noticed an old profile on Ratio.nalwiki exists for someone named Karajou, as seen here:

Someone with the ID of Karajou back in November 2009 created it with the following description:

"Hey, I am Karajou at Conservapedia. I've become fed up with Aschlafly and TK giving me crap, so I'll secretly be sabotaging CP from the inside out from now on."

They added the following:

"Though I am still a conservative, I have noticed that Conservapedia is less and less for writing the encyclopedia, as originally assumed, and more and more biased garbage."

On December 1, 2009, they removed everything with an edit summary of "crap, I forgot ТK watches this website"

Anyway, I am concerned that Karajou may not be working for the wiki like you think he is, and is actively pushing the wiki to block everyone it can to sabotage the wiki. Maybe I am wrong and that is not a real profile by him, but I wanted to bring it up to you. --Joshua Zambrano 23:08, 3 September 2013 (EDT)

P.S. I had to change link addresses by including a period after ratio to post them. I somewhat wonder if it was Karajou who pushed for blocking RW links to prevent this evidence from being seen by Conservapedia users.

Hmm, it seems they say now on the CP talk page that it was a parodist page pretending to be representing Karajou, so I remove my concerns. Some of these blocks just have had me really concerned about the sincerity involved, my apologies. --Joshua Zambrano 23:15, 3 September 2013 (EDT)

Is Rush Limbaugh a Conservative or a RINO backer?--JoeyJ 08:33, 29 October 2013 (EDT)

Limbaugh was unpersoned after piling in on Todd Akin. JohanZ 17:11, 29 October 2013 (EDT)
Should I delate him and the article Fox News form Conservative media?--JoeyJ 13:48, 1 November 2013 (EDT)
Amazed they were still there - deleted. JohanZ 16:06, 1 November 2013 (EDT)
Fiscal conservative is enough to keep his place. Conservative media is fine the way it is. I don't suggest calling it rightwing media or Republican media and many listings included are not conservative but it fits in the sphere none-the-less--Jpatt 22:51, 1 November 2013 (EDT)

Then are George W. Bush and John McCain Conservatives or RINOs? Look also at the article Conservative links.--JoeyJ 11:29, 2 November 2013 (EDT)

No, I don't think they are conservative. The movement conservatives should be in the Conservative links page, however.--Aschlafly 14:32, 2 November 2013 (EDT)
So I have deleted the Category:Conservatives from John McCain. Then delete Bush from the page "Conservative".--JoeyJ 16:44, 2 November 2013 (EDT)
And what about Conservative media?--JoeyJ 17:10, 2 November 2013 (EDT)
Conservative media is relative, so less-than-conservative people can remain on that list.--Aschlafly 19:11, 2 November 2013 (EDT)

Then delete Bush from the page "Conservative".--JoeyJ 12:07, 4 November 2013 (EST)

It says that GWB was conservative "with respect to taxes and Supreme Court nominations." That is correct.--Aschlafly 13:50, 4 November 2013 (EST)

OK. What about Ted Cruz is he a conservative or a liberal? If he is a conservative, then delete his songs from Essay: Worst Liberal Songs.--JoeyJ 08:51, 5 November 2013 (EST)

I don't see Ted Cruz mentioned anywhere in Essay: Worst Liberal Songs.--Aschlafly 09:51, 5 November 2013 (EST)
Ops. I mean Ted Nugent.--JoeyJ 10:20, 5 November 2013 (EST)
Deleting his songs from that entry would be an improvement.--Aschlafly 18:36, 5 November 2013 (EST)
Done. Should I put in "Boom" by System of a Down into this article?--JoeyJ 07:50, 6 November 2013 (EST)

Nelson Mandela

Would it be possible for you to put a brief story, ect. about the recent passing of Nelson Mandela. ? Regards Taz

If a journalist twisted a quote to support his claim like you did he'd be fired. You know exactly what you did - you wanted to say that conditions have gotten worse and the quote did not say that - so you changed the tense.--Iduan 16:32, 7 December 2013 (EST)

It is implicit given that it is a news story, and the change is also verifiable by researching other stories. Are you more interested in what the truth is, or in debating debate tactics? Please give it a rest - I count more than 50 consecutive talk-page edits from your account, which is far more than the 90/10 rule would typically allow.--Aschlafly 21:30, 7 December 2013 (EST)
You know that change in quote isn't ethical - the only acceptable variation would be [is]. My track record here has always been clear; I'm proud of the work I've done - much of it work that you couldn't do (because I work in the templatespace), but because you invented reasons to never allow me to edit templates freely (despite that track record) you made it cumbersome to edit here - because I had to ask you or other editors to make changes that they wouldn't understand. I stopped editing around when TK tragically passed because I no longer had someone who knew that I knew enough to edit what were often my own creations. I also have significant article space work in political officeholders and universities - both of those stemming from my template work.
If you want to pull me for 90/10 because I've been recently inactive due this reason (and due to school - this is finals week) that's fine Andy; you have my blessing; I won't argue - but everyone will see it as you shutting down debate because I called you out on that quote change. As I said in my email to you - for all that you've accused me of - being an undercover secret liberal infiltrator vandal email hacker troublemaker - I've only ever worked extremely hard to contribute to Conservapedia. My page shows that, and I leave with a clear conscience.--Iduan 22:08, 7 December 2013 (EST)
Please, give it a rest. The non-stop talk, talk, talk is contrary to the 90/10 rule. I'm going to edit substantive entries next, and suggest that you do likewise, or at least respect the rule.

Can you unlock Template:officeholder? Thanks.--Iduan 23:18, 8 December 2013 (EST)

I'm struggling to figure out whether I should like this band or not. While I enjoy their music from a purely instrumental view, I don't appreciate the liberal message they advance. Help would be appreciated. CScotson 15:58, 3 January 2014 (EST)

Neoconservative Songs

Are the songs "At 30,000 Ft" and "Iraq No Phobia" Conservative? They support interventionism and the War in Iraq.--JoeyJ 11:59, 5 January 2014 (EST)

Sound more like neocon songs to me.--Andy Schlafly 12:13, 5 January 2014 (EST)
Should I delete them from the list?--JoeyJ 12:43, 5 January 2014 (EST)
Fine with me if you delete those songs from the list.--Andy Schlafly 13:41, 5 January 2014 (EST)

Dear Mr. Schlafly

Whilst browsing the recent changes list, I saw your edit about how the fall of man made perpetual motion machines and lifespans substantially greater than 120 years impossible. I find this very fascinating, as those two phenomena would arise from the Second Law of Thermodynamics, if I'm not mistaken, which says entropy tends to go up. Do you think maybe God instituted the Second Law of Thermodynamics in response to the Fall of Man? --Kennywillis 23:02, 10 January 2014 (EST)

Chaos is inherent in turning away from God. I wouldn't say that God creates chaos, but that turning away from God does.--Andy Schlafly 00:03, 11 January 2014 (EST)
Smart. Thanks for the food for thought! --Kennywillis 00:00, 12 January 2014 (EST)

If you support Vladimir Putin, what do you think about the situation in Ukraine (or Belarus)?--JoeyJ 12:22, 13 January 2014 (EST)

Skip Captcha

Dear Andy. My eyesight is not great and I have real trouble deciphering the Captcha, normally taking 3 or 4 attempts to get it right. Would it be possible to skip this for the talk mainpage? If not that is understandable but could I post news stories on your talk page instead? I am a "news hog" and see a number that may be interesting to Conservapedia, especially about abortion. I am reasonably liberal about some issues but will not compromise my views on this issue to the extent that I have broken close friendships because of it. I do appreciate you taking the time to post these stories but don't expect all to be. My thanks to you.--JerryCa 23:31, 13 January 2014 (EST)

I turned off Catcha for your account. Sorry I didn't think of it earlier.--Andy Schlafly 23:36, 13 January 2014 (EST)

Atheism and... Articles

Can we delete some of the lower quality articles? With no disrespect to Conservative, I feel a lot of it is rambling and also repetitive across the pages. CScotson 00:03, 19 January 2014 (EST)

CScotson, it is unfortunate that you merely gave your feelings on this matter rather than making a clear, logical and convincing case for your request.
Second, please demonstrate to me your standard for a well-done atheism related article by writing 3 such articles and here is a list of articles you can choose from as far as potential articles: Conservapedia atheism project. Conservative 09:44, 19 January 2014 (EST)
So let us look at Atheism and obesity, I will be categorising my arguments into broad objections and detailed section by section objections

Broad Objections

 • The entire article is an ad hominem attack on atheism. Regardless of what links atheism supposedly has with obesity, it is entirely irrelevant in terms of the "debate" between atheism and christianity.
 • The format, dedicating an entire section to each example of this "link" leads to an overly long article. It would perhaps be more appropriate to provide a simple list and have the specifics of each person on the list on their own page.
 • The article goes on some tangents about how obesity affects one's life. This should simply not be there. The many negative effects of obesity should be confined to the obesity page.
 • The article mentions homosexuality and obesity more than once. Considering Homosexuality and obesity is its own page, references and invocations of such should not be within the article. Furthermore Atheism and homosexuality has its own article as well.
 • Many examples are referenced with large blocks of direct quotes from sources where a simple footnote style reference would suffice. This adds to the long rambling nature of the page, especially when the quotes are repeated on other pages, such as Homosexuality and obesity and the personal articles.

Section Specific

 • The introduction is far too long.
 • The introduction contains direct quotes that should be in the main part of the text.
 • The introduction contains separate sections, which adds to the length and may confuse readers.
 • The section "explosive growth of christianity* is entirely irrelevant to the topic.

American Atheists organisation

 • The section contains a number of links to pictures which are simply unnecessary.
 • The final sentence is irrelevant to the topic.

Pictures of an overweight PZ Myers

 • This section consists of more than just pictures.
 • This section begins the repetition of the negative effects of obesity.
 • This section equates the acceptance of the Theory of evolution with both atheism and homosexuality.
 • The comment about the dinosaur model and attached video is simply spiteful.

I will add more if you so wish and will continue my section by section breakdown when I have the time tomorrow. CScotson 17:46, 19 January 2014 (EST)

CScotson, I could tell from the very beginning of your last post that your knowledge of logic is poor. You wrote: "The entire article is an ad hominem attack on atheism." Ad hominem attacks pertain to attacks against a person and not an ideology/religion or group of people (And atheism is not a person).[7]
Second, I am sorry to hear that you didn't appreciate the plethora of evidence that was presented in the article in question (academic studies, survey data, medical journals, historical data, demographic data, etc.).
Feel free to engage in last wordism and add a lot unnecessary liberal wordiness at this point. However, be forewarned that the owner of the website will no doubt ignore it at this juncture given your previous unimpressive posts on this matter. Conservative 18:31, 19 January 2014 (EST)
