Acetic Acid

Why the change? CH3COOH tells us what the structure is, whereas with C2H4O2 we have to guess. HelpJazz 23:28, 6 March 2008 (EST)

Yeah, but that isn't the chemical formula. That's the structural formula. I put both in, so yeah. DM 00:02, 7 March 2008 (EST)
Ok, I see, I missed the text and was only looking at the formula :) It's most common to list the structural formula and not the chemical formula, since anyone who can add can figure out the chemical formula when given the structural formula, but it doesn't work the other way around. How do you think it looks now? (This is the way I have formatted... almost all of the chemistry articles, though I admit I wasn't entirely rigorous with the chemical/structural distinction.) HelpJazz 10:46, 7 March 2008 (EST)
That works. DM 11:20, 7 March 2008 (EST)

Japanese

I took a year of Japanese at Harvard. Don't mess with it, if you don't understand it. --Ed Poor Talk 10:27, 7 March 2008 (EST)

I do understand Japanese. There are a lot of pronouns and I thought it useful to put them down. DM 11:14, 7 March 2008 (EST)

That's true. I was going to add more but I just... didn't. Which is a pretty bad excuse.
