I understand that Corn Circles are more a fiction than a serious matter. The real thing is that yesterday it was the subject with '''more hits''' in the web according to Yahoo. (as are several of the articles that I have made recently, using the same source). It does not matter too much if Stonehenge was or was not made by aliens or humans. We are not here to teach in all disciplines but to inform what is interesting, honest, clean and supported by serious sources. I made the article using the best material that I found. Them, Jazzman came I take away something without any comment to me or using the disscusion page. I took it back but opening a disscusion in the page. Profanity?

I didn't see any there. --Sysop-TK /MyTalk 02:23, 30 May 2007 (EDT)

I deleted a userbox that had d*** on it. DeborahB. 16:10, 30 May 2007 (EDT)
  • It's okay. You can say damn. But I agree with your decision.  ;-) Even the mildly profane shouldn't be a part of who we are.--Sysop-TK /MyTalk 20:15, 30 May 2007 (EDT)

Userboxes

I see that you are having trouble with the userboxes; since they are templates, they are already included on many people's pages, and therefore changing the template changes the meaning of their viewpoint. I've made you a new template, at Template:User gay is not ok. To include this on your userpage, include {{User gay is not ok}} on your userpage. --Ĥøĵĭmåçħôńğtalk 18:26, 30 May 2007 (EDT)

Thanks! This is my first time creating my own userboxes, and it is a bit confusing. DeborahB. 18:31, 30 May 2007 (EDT)
No problem! Feel free to ask me if you have any more questions about userboxes, templates, etc. --Ĥøĵĭmåçħôńğtalk 18:34, 30 May 2007 (EDT)

Userboxes 2

Thanks DeborahB for letting me know what shouldn't be locked. --Sysop-TK /MyTalk 17:05, 1 June 2007 (EDT)

Your welcome :) And thanks for unblocking it. DeborahB. 17:11, 1 June 2007 (EDT)
  • You have forgotten to add the links on your box.  ;-) --Sysop-TK /MyTalk 19:09, 1 June 2007 (EDT)

There are, in a sense, two ways to make a userbox. All user boxes use the template {{userbox}} as a base.

The first way is to create a template (all user boxes are templates) based on the template {{userbox}}, and include in your template whatever it is that you want it to contain. You then place that template on your user page, and other editors can place it on their pages if they wish. This is what you have done with all the user boxes on your page (except that they were created by other people), except for the homeschooling one.

The second is to put {{userbox}} itself on your user page and directly code the contents there. This is what you have done with the homeschooling one.

You include any user box templates that you create in the user box list so that others can use them also. But if you've directly coded yours on your user page, then there is no template for others to use (although they can always copy your code, of course), and little point in putting it in the lists of user boxes.

Before I explain any more, are you satisfied with the way you've done it, or would you like to turn your homeschooling one into a template?

Philip J. Rayment 04:42, 2 June 2007 (EDT)

You obviously didn't read the box at the top of my talk page which said that I would watch your page for replies. :-)

Creating a user box is pretty simple really—once you know how, of course.

Anyway, see here for creating a new page (if you don't already understand that), with particular reference to the section on creating templates. (Don't bother following the link to further instructions on creating templates, as it doesn't really apply to user boxes.) But in essence, if you want your user box to be called "homeschooled", then you can click on this link: Template:User homeschooled.

Then put the content of your user box on that newly-created page, and save it.

That's it. Go back to the list of user boxes where you put the homeschooling one and change it to follow the same format as the others on that page, and do the same with your user page, and you're done.

If I've assumed too much about what you understand, let me know and I'll try and make it clearer.

Capitals

I left a note about it on the appropriate talk page just now, but most of the capitals already have stubs for them, but listed without the state after them. The index is here. http://www.conservapedia.com/Category:US_State_Capitals DanH 15:17, 4 June 2007 (EDT)

Answer

Deborah, the Sysop nomination page is here.

In the future, you can search for these items by clicking on more than one namespace. To find this, it is necessary to search for "Sysop" in the namespace "Conservapedia". Thanks.--Aschlafly 15:23, 4 June 2007 (EDT)

Hi!

Hi Deborah! Have you seen Pirates of the Carribean 3? I just went to see it and thought it was really good. I hope they make a fourth movie! ~Beth~ 17:35 4 June 2007 (EDT)

Also, have you read Emily of New Moon, by L.M. Montgomery? I saw your page on L.M. Montgomery, which was really good, and was wondering whether or not you have read her books. ~Beth~ 15:00 5 June 2007 (EDT)

Thanks

Thanks for your concise entries, Deborah! I've learned from them already. We don't want long-winded, confusing entries here as there are on Wikipedia. Please continue your efforts.--Aschlafly 18:24, 4 June 2007 (EDT)

Wouldn't it be better if they were capitalised? Just a suggestion --wikinterpreter woo!

Index Templates

Hey Deborah! To make a template for an index, like the one on the biology terms, open a page called "Template:US Senate Index" or whatever you want. Then copy the coding from another index box (there's one here), and replace the title and the links with the name of the new topic. A good shortcut is to just paste the code for the template into Word and hit ctrl F. Have it find "Biology" and replace it with "US Senate", then click "replace all", and the code will be ready to paste into your template. Sorry if that's too confusing. If you want, I can just make the template for you, but I figured I'd tell you how it's done. ~ SharonTalk 21:12, 6 June 2007 (EDT)

OK, I think I got it. It can be found at Template:US Senate Terms, and it is identical except for two things. The first is that instead of "Biology Terms", it says "U.S. Senate Terms". Also, all of the letters linked to the Biology term (for example, the letter A actually linked to "Biology Terms A", B linked to "Biology Terms B", etc.) and now they link to "U.S. Senate Terms A", "U.S. Senate Terms B", etc. To put it at the top of a page, copy and paste {{US Senate Terms}} at the top of the page. Enjoy! --Ĥøĵĭmåçħôńğtalk 21:14, 6 June 2007 (EDT)

  • Thanks...all of you :) Sharon, for telling me how to do...now I don't have to be lazy :) Your explaining was a lot clearer then the temlate page! Hojimachong, for creating the template for me...despite my want to learn how, I'm glad I don't have to now :) And TK, for making one even though I didn't ask you! DeborahB. 21:24, 6 June 2007 (EDT)

Also, if you could take a look at the discussion page for American Revolution I posted something I'd like you to comment on. Thanks. --Colest 13:38, 11 June 2007 (EDT)
Feel free to edit the draft on my user page as much as you'd like. The more collaboration the better, I say. I have changed the format of your timeline slightly (smaller year headings), I hope you don't mind. --Colest 15:43, 11 June 2007 (EDT)
Yeah, I got antsy last night and just copied it over, and upset some folks with it. Sorry, I should have mentioned that to you. --Colest 11:52, 12 June 2007 (EDT)

References

In the future it would probably be best to cite the sources you use for your articles. Even if something is in the public domain, the 2nd Conservapedia Commandment requires that we cite the source of the information; otherwise it is considered plagiarism. I have gone back and added sources to most of your entries to the U.S. Senate Glossary.--Brian 11:20, 13 June 2007 (EDT)

Could you please add the sources you are using to all the articles you are adding to the Economics Terms lists. I have been adding them to as many of the articles as I can, but you keep adding more too quickly :-) --Brian 21:53, 21 June 2007 (EDT)

OK, I'm not completely sure what it is you're trying to add; in case its the whole template I made one at Template:Economics Index. To create the index page for each letter, you'd head it with {{Economics Index}}. Am I on the right track for what you're after, or am I way off target?
