Profanity?

I didn't see any there. --Sysop-TK /MyTalk 02:23, 30 May 2007 (EDT)

I deleted a userbox that had d*** on it. DeborahB. 16:10, 30 May 2007 (EDT)
  • It's okay. You can say damn. But I agree with your decision.  ;-) Even the mildly profane shouldn't be a part of who we are.--Sysop-TK /MyTalk 20:15, 30 May 2007 (EDT)

Userboxes

I see that you are having trouble with the userboxes; since they are templates, they are already included on many people's pages, and therefore changing the template changes the meaning of their viewpoint. I've made you a new template, at Template:User gay is not ok. To include this on your userpage, include {{User gay is not ok}} on your userpage. --Ĥøĵĭmåçħôńğtalk 18:26, 30 May 2007 (EDT)

Thanks! This is my first time creating my own userboxes, and it is a bit confusing. DeborahB. 18:31, 30 May 2007 (EDT)
No problem! Feel free to ask me if you have any more questions about userboxes, templates, etc. --Ĥøĵĭmåçħôńğtalk 18:34, 30 May 2007 (EDT)

Userboxes 2

Thanks DeborahB for letting me know what shouldn't be locked. --Sysop-TK /MyTalk 17:05, 1 June 2007 (EDT)

Your welcome :) And thanks for unblocking it. DeborahB. 17:11, 1 June 2007 (EDT)
  • You have forgotten to add the links on your box.  ;-) --Sysop-TK /MyTalk 19:09, 1 June 2007 (EDT)

There are, in a sense, two ways to make a userbox. All user boxes use the template {{userbox}} as a base.

The first way is to create a template (all user boxes are templates) based on the template {{userbox}}, and include in your template whatever it is that you want it to contain. You then place that template on your user page, and other editors can place it on their pages if they wish. This is what you have done with all the user boxes on your page (except that they were created by other people), except for the homeschooling one.

The second is to put {{userbox}} itself on your user page and directly code the contents there. This is what you have done with the homeschooling one.

You include any user box templates that you create in the user box list so that others can use them also. But if you've directly coded yours on your user page, then there is no template for others to use (although they can always copy your code, of course), and little point in putting it in the lists of user boxes.

Before I explain any more, are you satisfied with the way you've done it, or would you like to turn your homeschooling one into a template?

You obviously didn't read the box at the top of my talk page which said that I would watch your page for replies. :-)

Creating a user box is pretty simple really—once you know how, of course.

Anyway, see here for creating a new page (if you don't already understand that), with particular reference to the section on creating templates. (Don't bother following the link to further instructions on creating templates, as it doesn't really apply to user boxes.) But in essence, if you want your user box to be called "homeschooled", then you can click on this link: Template:User homeschooled.

Then put the content of your user box on that newly-created page, and save it.

That's it. Go back to the list of user boxes where you put the homeschooling one and change it to follow the same format as the others on that page, and do the same with your user page, and you're done.

If I've assumed too much about what you understand, let me know and I'll try and make it clearer.

Sysop

I'm nominating you. End of discussion!  :) Karajou 15:05, 4 June 2007 (EDT)

Capitals

I left a note about it on the appropriate talk page just now, but most of the capitals already have stubs for them, but listed without the state after them. The index is here. http://www.conservapedia.com/Category:US_State_Capitals DanH 15:17, 4 June 2007 (EDT)

Answer

Deborah, the Sysop nomination page is here.

In the future, you can search for these items by clicking on more than one namespace. To find this, it is necessary to search for "Sysop" in the namespace "Conservapedia". Thanks.--Aschlafly 15:23, 4 June 2007 (EDT)

Hi!

Hi Deborah! Have you seen Pirates of the Carribean 3? I just went to see it and thought it was really good. I hope they make a fourth movie! ~Beth~

Articles...

Deborah, please understand that when looking for potential new sysops, we take into account the content, not just the article count. Could you please refrain from just posting stubs, and actually offer a complete article? Thanks! --Sysop-TK /MyTalk 17:59, 4 June 2007 (EDT)

Thanks

Thanks for your concise entries, Deborah! I've learned from them already. We don't want long-winded, confusing entries here as there are on Wikipedia. Please continue your efforts.--Aschlafly 18:24, 4 June 2007 (EDT)

  • Thanks for the snipe and undercut, Andy. You are totally out of line and mean spirited here. Perhaps you need to consider removing me. The articles are blatant stubs, and should more logically be incorporated under Congress. --Sysop-TK /MyTalk 18:38, 4 June 2007 (EDT)

Laptop: £400. Internet connection: £15 a month. The above exchange: Priceless. :) --Robledo 20:05, 4 June 2007 (EDT)
