Nice work

Thanks for this and that. And don't worry about vandalism accusations. I myself was thought to be vandal when I first started editing online encyclopedias, back in 2001. It took me a few months to prove myself. --Ed Poor Talk 15:25, 14 December 2009 (EST)

The vandalism was certainly a mistake, lesson learned. I tried my best to make up for the mistake a few days later; offering more accurate edits by providing additional information on the following czars: Alan Bersin, Ron Bloom, Gil Kerlikowske, Paul Volcker, Carol Browner, Jeffrey Zients, Cameron Davis, Nancy DeParle, John Brennan, Dennis Blair, Kenneth Feinberg, Vivek Kundra, Adolfo Carrion, Jr., Gary Samore. If anything, the notice of vandalism was a good thing because it verified how, despite Conservative values as a model for truth in Conservapedia, there are boundaries that must be upheld to remain encyclopedic. At first I felt like perhaps Obama was right and maybe I am an "extremist," after having been blocked on Conservapedia for being too Conservative. But then I realized it wasn't about that, but more about keeping to the facts and not spreading unverifiable gossip. Ever since then I've made it a passionate goal to remain as factual and relevant to any topic that I edit. I appreciate your kind words, too. It's always nice to receive recognition for the good work as well as constructive criticism for the edits that need additional improvements. So thank you! DerekE 15:52, 14 December 2009 (EST)

Interesting, for your use

[1] --ṬK/Admin/Talk 17:16, 20 December 2009 (EST)

Thanks! It makes sense. Perhaps another section should be created to provide an overall outcome as a result of Climategate, such as the necessary requirement that "Global warming, to be accepted as a scientific hypothesis, it must include details of how to prove it wrong--'falsifiability.'" I really hope the climate science community has learned from this (unfortunately politics and science are still holding hands, which is another clear need to change), so the article makes a great point. I'll look into this more when I return. Until then - Marry Christmas! DerekE 17:40, 23 December 2009 (EST)

Amazongate

A climategate and then a glaciergate and now an Amazongate. http://www.australianclimatemadness.com/?p=2956

And Alabama State Climatologist Dr. John Christy of the University of Alabama in Huntsville, has split ranks with other members of the discredited “hockey team” of climatologists exposed for fraudulently hiding and destroying data in the Climategate scandal that broke on November 19, 2009.

“I was at the table with three Europeans, and we were having lunch. And they were talking about their role as lead authors. And they were talking about how they were trying to make the report so dramatic that the United States would just have to sign that Kyoto Protocol,” Christy told CNN on May 2, 2007. See http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2438131/posts Some of those guys provide some pertinent graphics.

I can try to add some of this to the page later. Daniel1212 22:38, 27 January 2010 (EST)

Congratulations!

I see Andy has granted you night editing privileges! It is well deserved, Derek. --ṬK/Admin/Talk 03:49, 23 June 2010 (EDT)

Awesome!!! :-D Thanks, Andy!
My apologies for the delay in response - I just got back from vacation. I am truly so very honored to have earned this privilege.
Jesus said:
I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father but by me. (John 14:6)
My prayer, a promise to God and to faith, and with it I give thanks for this life and for THE sacrifice Christ gave for me:

Dear God, I am a sinner and need forgiveness. I believe that Jesus Christ shed His precious blood and died for my sin. I am willing to turn from sin. I now invite Christ to come into my heart and life as my personal Saviour.

And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. (Mark 16:15)

For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!" (1 Corinthians 9:16)

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. (Romans 1:16)

The second day of July, 1776, will be the most memorable epoch in the history of America. I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary Festival. It ought to be commemorated, as the Day of Deliverance, by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires and illuminations, from one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward forever. -- John Adams wrote this in a letter to his wife, Abigail, on July 3, 1776.
Long live Conservapedia; the achievements of Christianity and conservatism, from past generations and to this time forward forever, the truth shall set the world free. DerekE 17:00, 28 June 2010 (EDT)

Superb addition!

Superb addition, Derek, to Best New Conservative Words!--Andy Schlafly 23:52, 4 July 2010 (EDT)

Thanks! The source I added is disturbing to read, but it's exactly what the Obama administration is doing with every new "stimulus package" these liberal's force onto the American people. It's disgusting. Liberals have single handedly transformed the term "stimulus," by doing the exact opposite of what a stimulus insinuates. It goes well with liberal deceit. DerekE 14:47, 8 July 2010 (EDT)

Congratulations!

Congratulations on earning blocking privileges! Very well-deserved and overdue.--Andy Schlafly 21:28, 10 July 2010 (EDT)

I will use this privilege with careful judgment, as necessary, to keep Conservapedia from vandalism. Thanks! DerekE 21:09, 11 July 2010 (EDT)

"Not a democracy"

Thank you for that! It is among the most prevalent falsities repeated about our government...in some surveys over 70% of students stated the United States was a democracy..... :S --ṬK/Admin/Talk 07:09, 4 August 2010 (EDT)

Most of the time when I'm discussing our American government with someone, I always find myself having to correct them when they refer to the U.S. as a "democracy." I cannot stand it, either. It is certainly one of the most prevalent falsities repeated about our government, and it disgusts me. The sad part is, even intelligent people will mistakenly refer to America as a democracy. It goes to show the great lengths progressives have gone to infiltrate our education system and, quite literally, fundamentally transform the definition of our government system. It's sad, really... DerekE 17:17, 5 August 2010 (EDT)
Please clarify your "not a democracy" remarks. It looks like you are saying that the world's most democratic country is non-democratic. That sounds like the lead-in to some Marxist talking points. Is that what you meant?
Or were you possibly referring to the distinction between direct democracy and representative democracy? --Ed Poor Talk 13:32, 31 August 2011 (EDT)
I was referring to the fact that the U.S. is a Constitutional Republic - err, it was before the Seventeenth Amendment allowed Senators to be controlled by "mob rule," otherwise known as special interest groups rather than adhering to the rule of law. In a way, you are right, America is now a "democratic republic" of some sort. Does that help clarify what I meant? DerekE 13:46, 31 August 2011 (EDT)

Restoring Honor

Thanks for creating that! Was just discussing earlier with another Admin that we needed such an entry. Here are a couple more links, if you haven't already seen them, that you might want to use for the page. [4] & [5] The loony left is sure on the attack over it. --ṬK/Admin/Talk 17:55, 27 August 2010 (EDT)

Thanks! I'll incorporate the additional information via these citations shortly. DerekE 19:27, 27 August 2010 (EDT)

Policy

[6] That, among other provocations that have earlier been removed, were my reasons, Derek. In light of your contributions, I am responding to your inappropriately placed question about another user. Here we adhere to a MYOB policy, detailed in the CP Guidelines. If some admin action bothers you greatly, the appropriate action is to send the admin involved an email. --ṬK/Admin/Talk 21:30, 5 September 2010 (EDT)

OK, my apologies. The blocked user was done so for lying and for good reasons; in all honesty, your actions did not bother me in the least bit, not now, not then. My sophomoric comment was merely a neutral consideration, although -- instead, I should have but was too slow to put my foot in my big mouth before I commented when my thoughts weren't needed nor informed. Not only do I respect your actions, but, also I can certainly understand why a quick email to you would have been a more appropriate action on my behalf. I hope this can be the end of that. I'm over it. :-) DerekE 02:10, 6 September 2010 (EDT)

XM25

Hey Derek what's happening? You've created a nice article. Unfortunately, we have a page on the XM25. I need you to merge your work. Thanks bro. --Jpatt 15:43, 10 December 2010 (EST)

On no! I totally missed the already created page on the XM25. That's definitely my mistake, and I'll make some changes to move the information to the correct article. Thanks for pointing this out to me. DerekE 16:20, 10 December 2010 (EST)

My CNBC discovery

I see that you apparently know much about CNBC and those who are in CNBC, so I want to ask you another question. You told me that as far as you know, Rick Santelli and Larry Kudlow are the only conservatives allowed on CNBC, but I want to ask you about Maria Bartiromo, another sweety from CNBC. I found out that there are many allegations of a conservative bias made by liberals against her, but there are no allegations of a liberal bias made by conservatives against her. Bartiromo has also been accused by liberals of "spouting conservative talking points." Also, I remember one time she was asked if she was a Republican by congressman Alan Greyson. Senator Barney Frank seems to detest her and there was a debate between him and her that was featured on the O'Reilly Factor last month on his "Fact Check" segment. I have done my research on Newsbusters, google, and youtube, and I've found many things. It does appear like she favors conservatives more than liberals. So what do you think? Do you think that she leans more to the right than to the left? If so, should she therefore be included included in the short list of conservatives allowed on CNBC? Is she someone we conservatives need to keep our eyes on on CNBC? Is Maria Bartiromo therefore better than Erin Burnett? I haven't seen her in a while though. Willminator 10:53, 5 January 2011 (EST)

My apologies for the delayed response. I was writing a response earlier but got sidetracked; however, Maria Bartiromo has always intrigued me, so your questions about her prompted me to do some research. I in fact learned that Maria Bartiromo may be more conservative or a free market capitalist than I originally thought. A better response requires some more thinking on it though, simply because CNBC - owned by NBC, is a part of the equation. DerekE 01:30, 7 January 2011 (EST)
On a second take, it does look like Maria Bartiromo is more conservative than liberal. So I should revise my original assumption that Rick Rantelli and Larry Kudlow are the only conservatives on CNBC; it would take me more research and watching Bartiromo to get a better understanding of her positions though. What I do like about CNBC is that they are forced to appeal more to free market capitalist thinking, because that's what drives the stock market. Although, many hosts, on occasion, do love to add comments of agreement in regards to the liberal agenda. Erin Burnett is guilty of this at times, which is a major turnoff, in my opinion. But there's something about her that I can't get enough of. :-) So I let it slide, but only with her. I can't say for sure if Maria Bartiromo is, quote, "better" than Erin Burnett. I'd say if Maria Bartiromo is more conservative than Burnett, than she is probably more likely to provide accurate information when discussing such things as global warming or the environmental agenda and the silliness of "green" stocks; she may also have a better understanding of the damaging effects of the policies of the Obama administration on the stock market. Depending on how well the new congress is able to re-awaken the economy, I might start getting back into investing and the stock market -- in which case I'll certainly start following Bartiromo a bit more. But with Obama messing with the economy and causing so much uncertainty, and after having two years of a liberal supermajority messing with the economy in the worst possible ways, I'm just not confident enough to get back into investing. I'm saving money, instead.  :-D DerekE 22:52, 7 January 2011 (EST)

Malware articles

Hi Derek,

You seem to have written several articles recently that are identical to content here. Do you own this material? If so, it would be best to post a clear notice to that effect. Jcw 17:49, 2 August 2011 (EDT)

Well I did just purchase a new MacBook Pro, updated to Mac OS X Lion, and installed VirusBarrier X6 - and some of the information that I used was provided by Intego while installing their antivirus software. But it seemed common, so I only used citations where necessary; although, the link you provided above should probably be inserted to the articles for citation purposes. You're more than welcome to do so and add any other information you might find relevant. I don't own any of the articles, if that's what you're asking... DerekE 18:23, 2 August 2011 (EDT)
Fine. Since you got the pleasure of calling me out for not adding a reference, I'll do it. ;-) DerekE 18:48, 2 August 2011 (EDT)
I hope you're enjoying the new MBP - I'm due one soon. I'm sure you know what you're doing with the malware articles, but as I understand it, it's a copyright violation to include other people's material verbatim. I might be over-reacting, I'm sure you'll do what's best. Jcw
I definitely understand why you mentioned it to me. I didn't think much of it while initially adding the info to the articles (thinking it was just common knowledge); but since you brought it to my attention, as it turns out, some of it isn't common knowledge because Intego was the company who discovered it (and published it). I'm usually a stickler about adding citations to any articles I edit, but since I got lazy this time I'm glad you caught it before it went unnoticed. Hat tip to you, Jcw. DerekE 19:10, 2 August 2011 (EDT)
No problem, glad to be of help. Happy editing. Jcw 19:11, 2 August 2011 (EDT)
