This was my talk page first, you little liberal! My castle, you Swift lover! I'm the King!

Madonna Article =

Ed Poor is turning it into a pro-Madonna article. Is Madonna considered conservative and therefore of merit ethically and culturally on this website? I can't see why.--Legolas2186

Madonna is most certainly not a conservative, and I disapprove of much of what cultral influence Madonna has, including her provocative attire. That being said, it is not good conduct to revert an administrator, and I recommend you bring it up on the talk page.--JamesWilson 19:41, 16 July 2011 (EDT)

Hi James. With regards to the Madonna article, there are ways to express disapproval over something without using hyperbolic language. The article originally read like an opinion piece of someone who detested Madonna. That's fine, and that type of writing has its place, but not, I feel, in an "encyclopedic" article. I think the best way to write an article for CP is to state facts and allow the reader to make up their own mind.

As for Legolas, it's my opinion that he's a parodist, and not a very good one at that. His history shows he's only edited on a couple of articles, and he seems to have it in for EdPoor. I doubt he'll last long around here. SharonW 22:33, 16 July 2011 (EDT)

He probably is. I hold this theory that liberal parodists all over the net are Colbert wannabes. As for the Madonna article, it was fine before Legolas messed it up.--JamesWilson 22:41, 16 July 2011 (EDT)

RW

Hey, just a little question, but what is "Rw"? You blocked someone for "Rw"

No, I blocked a user for vandalism for vandalizing the Liberalism article. You must be mistaking me for someone else.--JamesWilson 13:22, 21 July 2011 (EDT)

Blocking for user names?

Instead of antagonizing a potential productive editor who might have made a simple mistake by blocking them before they've made a single edit, and pretty much ensuring they won't return, why not be a bit nicer about it and just ask them to request a name change? What good does the blocking do? -JohnnyY

My apologies. I just seen other users do so. I will do so from now on, unless it is an obviously inappropriate name like I have seen before.--JamesWilson 22:14, 21 July 2011 (EDT)
Yah, and a week long block seems a bit harsh. Likewiuse this user has been active since then end of last year; it's hard to see why now his username becomes problematic. Rob Smith 22:23, 21 July 2011 (EDT)
I apologize Rob, and will be much more careful of the user name stuff from now on.--JamesWilson 22:28, 21 July 2011 (EDT)

Buddha as a possible atheist

While we're at it, this edit may be entirely plausible. I'm not an expert, at all. But the statement rather needs sourcing, or rephrasing. I would have asked the editor for a citation on the statement, which is the only problem, IMO. If you know it to be false gibberish, leave the editor blocked. Otherwise, you may want to reconsider. Thanks. Rob Smith 22:37, 21 July 2011 (EDT)
I know the Buddha did not explicitly deny the existence of a god or gods and that most modern Buddhists believe in a supernatural being.--JamesWilson 22:42, 21 July 2011 (EDT)
Intereting question. So Buddha may have had some understanding or belief in the supernatural and supernatural beings. Fine. Have you considered asking the editor for a cite before handing out a one year block? Rob Smith 22:48, 21 July 2011 (EDT)
I will do so, or entirely leave it alone. My apologies again.--JamesWilson 22:51, 21 July 2011 (EDT)
If you're going to unblock him, don't forget to hang the {{fact}} template and notify the user. A kind apology for the misunderstandiong on the block won't hurt, either. Rob Smith 12:44, 22 July 2011 (EDT)

I will do so sir. Did you see the post I made as your talk page as well?--JamesWilson 12:49, 22 July 2011 (EDT)

Not a problem.

I like copy-editing. I'm weird that way. If you ever want me to look something over, just let me know. SharonW 11:00, 22 July 2011 (EDT)

OK. So, what do you think of the progress I have made with the article so far?--JamesWilson 11:04, 22 July 2011 (EDT)

Well done!

Superb block and reversion of the edits!--Andy Schlafly 12:12, 22 July 2011 (EDT)

Thanks!--JamesWilson 12:13, 22 July 2011 (EDT)

Revert of my edit to ED

Hi, could you tell me why did you revert my edit to the article about Encyclopaedia Dramatica? That site is not only notable -- being listed as the very opposite as Conservapedia, but it's now operated by the Anonymous as well. One of their first actions was restoring the infamous page "offended" to it's former, er, glory.

The tense used in the article was inconsistent as well -- past in one place, present everywhere else. You did revert that correction as well.--KiloByte 13:54, 23 July 2011 (EDT)

I thought the language was a bit strong (calling it a cesspool) and it was perhaps vandalism. You are welcome to change it back, but tone down the language some.--JamesWilson 14:00, 23 July 2011 (EDT)
BRB...yeah, it's a cesspool. If that's the most appropriate term, we shouldn't censor ourselves. BradB 14:02, 23 July 2011 (EDT)
I am not familiar with the whole thing, but I toned the article down a bit.--JamesWilson 14:05, 23 July 2011 (EDT)

Elvis

I meant to tell you yesterday that the article is really shaping up. There are a few things that need some clarification - I am going to list them on the talk page in a little while. I hope you don't mind my editing the language. I've always found it's helpful to have someone else read over something I'm writing to make sure the points I'm trying to make are clear.

Getting pictures uploaded around here seems to drag on a bit, but hopefully someone with upload rights will see your request soon. SharonW 19:40, 27 July 2011 (EDT)

Please list them. I will be more than happy to improve the content. I don't mind you editing the language at all. This is a wiki, and collaboration is what it is all about.
You may know that User:SamHB proposed this article for featuring based on the vast improvements. That's why I want the images soon, in case it makes it.
I don't know if you saw my post on Mr. Schlafly's talk page, but I plan on doing revamps of the Johnny Cash and Bob Seger articles after I finish Elvis. Thanks!--JamesWilson 19:51, 27 July 2011 (EDT)
It also appears that my requests are stuck in an archive.--JamesWilson 21:34, 27 July 2011 (EDT)
I've added my suggestions - feel free to act on them or ignore as you see fit. ;-) Can you find the archive and return them to the page? SharonW 21:42, 27 July 2011 (EDT)
Thumb's up on the added info! I'm going to look into the column thing tomorrow - I'm too tired tonight.SharonW 22:48, 27 July 2011 (EDT)
Thanks!--JamesWilson 22:51, 27 July 2011 (EDT)

Thanks for the welcome

Thank you for welcoming me. I hope I can help improve this encyclopedia with my edits. Thanks! User:MorrisF

No problem. Please do!--JamesWilson 01:01, 28 July 2011 (EDT)

Elvis images

When you requested the images, did you provide some links to fair use photos? I doubt the sysops are going to take the time to research them, as they appear to be too busy with other things at the moment. It might go quicker if you do the research. --SharonW 09:32, 28 July 2011 (EDT)

I did.--JamesWilson 09:33, 28 July 2011 (EDT)
Well, I guess we wait then. I tried to get upload rights because of this very reason, but... --SharonW 09:38, 28 July 2011 (EDT)
Actually, they're hidden somewhere as Mr. Schlafly's talkpage was archived.--JamesWilson 09:41, 28 July 2011 (EDT)
Update:I dug them out and put them on the requests page.--JamesWilson 00:06, 30 July 2011 (EDT)

Bravo

You beat me to that block. The comment was utterly inappropriate. Well done.

--Benp 13:07, 28 July 2011 (EDT)

Thanks. One thing I do not like at all is hurtful comments directed toward other editors.--JamesWilson 14:26, 28 July 2011 (EDT)

Berry and Dylan

I'm all for improving those articles. My parents used to live in Minneapolis in the early 60s and would go down to a local bar and listen to Dylan. --SharonW 15:28, 29 July 2011 (EDT)

Really? That is amazing! I would have loved to see Dylan. By next year, I could possibly improve all of the musician articles! But, I think I am going to work on Seger next because that article is most urgently needing expansion.--JamesWilson 15:33, 29 July 2011 (EDT)

It was a couple of years before my time, but I remember my mom talking about Dylan. Another article I'd like to see improved is Jimmy Buffett - I'm an transplanted Floridian after all. --SharonW 15:45, 29 July 2011 (EDT)
Added to my list on my userpage!--JamesWilson 15:50, 29 July 2011 (EDT)

Good morning!

I saw your requests, and the additions you've made to the Seger article. I haven't had a chance to look at it yet. I've been attempting to write a more comprehensive section for the Anders Breivik article about the attacks themselves. I also want to add more biographical info about him, and some info about the victims as well, before the article is featured. So much to do, so little time! Have a great day! --SharonW 11:30, 30 July 2011 (EDT)

Please do work on that article! You have a great day as well!--JamesWilson 11:39, 30 July 2011 (EDT)
