Welcome!

Hello, Jinkas, and welcome to Conservapedia!

We're glad you are here to edit. We ask that you read our Editor's Guide before you edit.

At the right are some useful links for you. You can include these links on your user page by putting "{{Useful links}}" on the page. Any questions--ask!

Thanks for reading, Jinkas!

I like your edit to John the Baptist. Crocoite Talk 15:12, 27 June 2007 (EDT)

The article didn't seem complete without it. I wanted to see how it would go over before adding similar edits to other biblical persons who have played roles as resurrected beings in the restauration. Jinkas 15:32, 27 June 2007 (EDT)
Look at my user page and you'll get a clue. I suspect the evangelicals on this site are going to fight this change. Crocoite Talk 15:57, 27 June 2007 (EDT)
Thanks for your constructive edits and comments. I think a "Mormon Beliefs" section (properly cited of course) is the only way we can even survive on this "Conservative" site. Crocoite Talk 19:46, 28 June 2007 (EDT)

Your help

Thank you for your help in some of the articles I have started.

About Ted Williams the word that he used was: your..., not you're.

About Saint Alban:

See also is not a collection of links about the same subject but an invitacion to see articles that, that particular readear could be interested.

About Babe Ruth:

In Mexico and in Latinamerica is best known as Baby Ruth.

also in english:

This "Baby" could be questionable.

For that reason I invite you to undo those 2 first changes, if you please.

--User:Joaquín Martínez, talk 22:25, 14 July 2007 (EDT)

Actually, the only way that Ted Williams said 'your' is if he had absolutely no concept of grammar. If he said the sound shared by the English words 'your', "you're", and 'yore', he most certainly meant the contraction of 'you are.' Now if he wrote the quote and actually used the word 'your' then that would be a different matter and the word 'your' would have to stand. However, since no source (interview, letter, etc...) is given for the original quote I am assuming that he used proper English grammar, in which case the word would be "you're."
I don't share your view about "See also." I feel that "See also" links should have some sort of direct relationship with the article where they are found. However, this is probably something that should be discussed on Talk:Saint Alban.
Baby Ruth is not used in English to refer to the baseball player. The quote in the link you provided was a quip by a comedian (George Bernard Shaw). I understand that Spanish-speakers may refer to Babe Ruth as Baby Ruth, but since the article is written in English I feel like the caption should be correct. Perhaps it can be noted elsewhere on the page that he is referred to as Baby Ruth in Mexico and Latin America. Again, this is probably better suited for Talk:Babe Ruth. Wikipedia

The current policy is to remove the parts from Wikipedia unless the person copying wrote the Wikipedia article. Which article? Geo.Complain! 22:17, 16 July 2007 (EDT)

The entire Texas holdem article is a copy of the first paragraph of the corresponding Wikipedia article as it existed on the day the Conservapedia article was created. I noticed this because the user who did the copy/paste job left in the first two references at the end of the second sentence, but didn't actually make them references, so they just showed up as [1][2]. Jinkas 22:35, 16 July 2007 (EDT)
In the future blank the page with a Copied from WP edit summary. Geo.Complain! 01:21, 17 July 2007 (EDT)

Cat & Mouse

If you detect articles sourced from WP, or Wikipedia "mirrors" improve them. Do not think you are launching some "investigation" and uncovering other than common mistakes, or carelessness. We value directness here, and solutions, rather than pointing out faults, without providing the solution. Thanks. --Sysop-TK /MyTalk 14:13, 18 July 2007 (EDT)

Look right above this section. I was instructed to blank information that I found copied from Wikipedia. I don't purport to be doing anything other than merely trying to fix commandment violations. The only reason I pointed out your fault (since I was about to implement the solution--blanking the copied portion--when I saw the talk page conversation) is because last time, when someone tried to delete the copied portion without pointing out the fault, you appeared to become angry to the point of personally attacking the other person. I wanted to be sure that I wasn't making a bad assumption before I removed the copied portion. In the future would you advise me to contact the offending user first or just make the necessary change?
By the way, I'm not a fan of ping-pong talk page conversations, so please either respond on my page or yours, but not both. Thank you. Jinkas 14:19, 18 July 2007 (EDT)
  • So you are admitting you are a sock of a removed user? --Sysop-TK /MyTalk 14:20, 18 July 2007 (EDT)
Come again? Jinkas 14:21, 18 July 2007 (EDT)
  • I think you know what I mean. Consider your mission and your manners, making bold statements of copying when you ignore the facts, and simply state publicly as fact, what you cannot possibly be 100% sure of. --Sysop-TK /MyTalk 14:28, 18 July 2007 (EDT)
I honestly don't know what you mean. Could you please be more clear? Jinkas 16:48, 18 July 2007 (EDT)
  • Thank you, Jinkas for explaining what you meant, and helping resolve obvious confusion and miscommunication on both of our parts! Sorry it took such an ordeal to do so. I am very happy we could do so, since you have made many valuable contributions! --Sysop-TK /MyTalk 00:27, 19 July 2007 (EDT)
I apologize that things got a little heated between us. I'm still new here, so I'm learning the proper way to go about doing things. I appreciate your assistance and apologize again for anything I did wrong. Jinkas 00:29, 19 July 2007 (EDT)
Oh, don't mind Terry K. He's of the "shoot first, ask questions later" school of security. ;-) --Ed Poor Talk 23:03, 24 July 2007 (EDT)

Got your email

I got your email about the flipperithecus article. I tried to email you back but yahoo was acting up. I don't have messenger, however, I would be glad to meet in a chat room and discuss things. Send me a note when I am on Conservapedia and we can meet in the chat room. Conservative 17:05, 23 July 2007 (EDT)

It's OK, now. I just wanted to change the description of New Scientist from "scientific journal" to "scientific magazine" (it's a really big difference). When I didn't hear back from you I just went ahead and made the change, and it seems like there have been no complaints. Jinkas 18:22, 23 July 2007 (EDT)
Thanks for the change. Conservative 18:38, 23 July 2007 (EDT)

I want the peter pic to be able to be scaled from 150 - 250 px. Conservative 18:08, 24 July 2007 (EDT)

Do I have to ask peter for a bigger pic via email? Conservative 18:20, 24 July 2007 (EDT)

Trip

Have a good trip. DanH 23:36, 5 August 2007 (EDT)

Welcome back

Good to see you're back! --Crocoite 12:54, 21 August 2007 (EDT)

Thanks; it was a great trip! Jinkas 12:58, 21 August 2007 (EDT)

Jinkas, I like your user page. I went on a mission to Southern Argentina about 26 years ago. --Crocoite 16:27, 30 August 2007 (EDT)

Welcome back again Jinkas. Why did you take a break during the contest? --Crocoite 17:36, 6 October 2007 (EDT)
I don't agree with the idea of the contest. I feel like it would be more valuable to the wiki to have the editors involved in the contest spend time writing well-researched, well-thought-out articles instead of the mad-dash copying and pasting that the contest provokes. I don't feel like one or two line dictionary-style entries on neutral topics do anything for the wiki--that information is well documented at the original source and has no liberal spin, so I feel like a better use of the time occupied by the contest would be in writing truly Conservative-sided articles on important topics. Jinkas 19:50, 8 October 2007 (EDT)
Many of the topics here started as one or two-line articles and later were expanded. During this last contest, we were encouraged to contribute articles relating to the American Government course; it would be better to provide links here, then have them go somewhere else for an explanation. Perhaps a future contest can focus on the articles you describe. --Crocoite 20:04, 8 October 2007 (EDT)

Thanks!

Blocking Privileges

Jinkas, you have blocking privileges now. By checking Special:Recentchanges, you can see vandals and block them. Don't hesitate to do so. We can easily undo any mistaken blocks. Thanks and Godspeed.--Aschlafly 00:51, 8 September 2007 (EDT)

Thanks, Andy. I work from a computer and have already been keeping Recentchanges open and refreshing during the day. I've been able to revert a lot of the vandalism that has happened recently during the day, but it has felt kind of hopeless since all I could do was revert the vandalism and wait for more (as well as notify a sysop, but that didn't always give quick results). Now I can really cut those vandals down. Jinkas 00:54, 8 September 2007 (EDT)
Thank you. Your work has been much appreciate and has benefited many students and adults. Godspeed.--Aschlafly 00:59, 8 September 2007 (EDT)

Great work tonight with the attacks so far!--Tash 21:48, 10 September 2007 (EDT)

I have not yet begun to block! Jinkas 21:49, 10 September 2007 (EDT)

Thanks for that alert block and reversion! That vandalism is shut off and you don't have to watch for it more now.--Aschlafly 11:14, 12 September 2007 (EDT)

Food

Nuthin! When I reverted it, it took the delete cat and the food cat, and I was rushed, forgot to add it back! :D --şŷŝôρ-₮KṢρёаќǃ 14:46, 21 September 2007 (EDT)

Cool, I wasn't sure if I was stepping on anyone's toes but it seemed obvious. And I really wanted to use the abbreviation cat:food. :) Jinkas 14:50, 21 September 2007 (EDT)

Hooray!

Glad you are back! --şŷŝôρ-₮K/Ṣρёаќǃ 20:04, 6 October 2007 (EDT)

The proper format for references

Hi, Jinkas. Thanks for correcting my reference at Random number. I'm often too lazy to do that extra bit of typing, so I appreciate when someone fills in for me. Please follow me around a lot! --Ed Poor Talk 13:41, 15 May 2008 (EDT)

No problem, amigo. I'm here to sweep up the small stuff. :-) Jinkas 13:49, 15 May 2008 (EDT)

Nice blocks!

Nice blocks, tonight, Jinkas!!! Superb.--Aschlafly 22:03, 19 May 2008 (EDT)

MichealJ

Quick question: um, why did you block User:MichealJ? He didn't do anything.--Ṣ₮ёVeN 13:26, 23 May 2008 (EDT)

He vandalized this site and mocked Andy. The page he created was later deleted, so there is no record of it in his contributions. Jinkas 17:12, 23 May 2008 (EDT)
