Conservapedia, launched on November 21, 2006, has become one of the most amusing and unsavoury websites on the internet. Initially set up as a right wing alternative to Wikipedia, it rapidly gained notoriety as bastion of ignorance, religious fanaticism and heavy censorship.

Most visitors believed ‘conservapedia’ was a crudely written parody site – but it soon became clear it was in fact ‘the real deal’.

One event which brought conservapedia to greater public awareness was Andy Schafly’s attempt to refute Richard Lenski’s research. ( search ‘conservapediahasalittlehan’ ). Richard Lenski’s response is now considered one of the finest put-downs in the history of the internet. It also led to Danth’s Law (also known as Parker’s Law) mentioned in the British conservative newspaper, ‘the daily telegraph’. ( search ‘Internet-rules-and-laws-the-top-10-from-Godwin-to-Poe’).

However, Andy isn’t the star of the show. That accolade goes to the user known simply as user: conservative. He claims to be a mysterious entity but outside conservapedia, he is known as a failed writer called Ken ^DE_MYER^. Ironically on the website that calls itself ‘the trustworthy encyclopaedia’, this user’s real surname is a banned term! (Hence the inserted characters!) Ken is also mentioned in the telegraph article.

Ken’s ‘articles’ have to be read to be believed. We loved the ‘bestiality’ series. (So much for the family friendly environment!)

Welcome!

Hello, NickP, and welcome to Conservapedia!

We're glad you are here to edit. We ask that you read our Editor's Guide before you edit.

At the right are some useful links for you. You can include these links on your user page by putting "{{Useful links}}" on the page. Any questions--ask!

Thanks for reading, NickP!

Comments on RobS and Conservative

I urge you to reconsider making comments on the current debate between User:RobS and Conservative. let us find solutions instead of blaming one another. If you are a Christian you'll understand that politeness and consideration will go further than sneering and blaming. Thanks and I hope we can work together. MaxFletcher 23:50, 28 July 2011 (EDT)

Perhaps you are right. I think it is best we let Andy make his decision. Sysops are normally supposed to be the ones who settle disputes, but what happens when the sysops get into disputes? Mr. Schlafly is the only one who can truly settle this. NickP 23:54, 28 July 2011 (EDT)
Thanks you, this is getting out of hand already. MaxFletcher 23:56, 28 July 2011 (EDT)

re: your request for private communication

I put in a request for the private email to be restored and the owner of the website is weighing the pros and cons of restoring that function. I did offer some benefits of reinstating it, but the owner of the website had some good points about not restoring it. Secondly, I have a feeling you wanted to communicate with me privately concerning RobS and while I appreciate your concern, I am not going to be drawn into contention with RobS so I believe the matter is a moot point. Sockpuppet

He is a sockpuppet of a clown calling himself "Jensen", and with less brains than a dead fish. All he does is engage in harassment, because that's all he can do. So, he gets blocked on sight and a little more. Karajou 18:11, 25 November 2011 (EST)

OK I was just wondering. I'm tried of these liberals thinking that their responses are "clever". I'll be glad to help revert his vandalism. NickP 18:13, 25 November 2011 (EST)

Congratulations!

Congratulations, your account now has blocking (and SkipCatcha) privileges!--Andy Schlafly 14:30, 22 December 2011 (EST)

Thank you Mr. Schlafly. I will use these powers with responsibility to keep Conservapedia safe from vandals. NickP 19:05, 22 December 2011 (EST)
