The video game industry has over $20 billion in annual sales.[1] Video game sales surpassed Hollywood revenue back in 2007.[2]

The biggest one-day opening for movies was Spider-Man 3, which grossed $59 million on its first day. But the video game Spring had first-day sales of $500 million. Grand Theft Auto IV, another video game, opened with $310 million in sales.[2]
