The video game industry has over $20 billion in annual sales.[1] Video game sales surpassed Hollywood revenue in the year 2007.[2]

The biggest one-day opening for movies was Spider-Man 3, which grossed $59 million on its first day. The video game Grand Theft Auto IV,however, opened with $310 million in sales and went on to gross $500 million. [2]
