The World Trade Organization (WTO) establishes rules and resolves disputes in international trade among its member nations. Founded in 1995, there are 150 nations that belong to the WTO. Its headquarters are in Geneva, Switzerland. The latest to join being Vietnam on January 11, 2007.

Many people on both sides of the political spectrum oppose the WTO and also oppose increases in some types of international trade.
