Wahhabism is a strictly fundamentalist branch of Islam founded in the 18th century. It was revived in the early 20th century when the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was founded.

Wahhabism is the basis for modern jihad and is the backbone of Al-Qaeda. It is characterized by strict interpretations of Sharia law, and harsh treatment of women.
