Waltz is a form of ballroom dance, performed to music with a 3 count rhythm - historically classical waltz music. Two popular styles of waltz are American-style waltz and Viennese waltz. Both are danced from closed position. The basic movement in American-style waltz is the box-step. Featured also are various swiveling patterns known as "twinkles". Viennese waltz is significantly faster than American-style waltz and features a succession of clockwise and counterclockwise rotations.
