William Ellery Channing

William Ellery Channing was a Unitarian preacher who had an influence on the New England Transcendentalist movement. He was the grandson of Signer William Ellery.

Channing held that a belief in the dignity and worth of human nature, the right and ability of each person to perceive truth, and the indwelling God in each person.[1]
