Bureau of Reclamation

The Bureau of Reclamation is the federal agency that has mismanaged the Colorado River water use, which is essential to several southwestern states.

In December 2022, a Colorado River conference tried to assess the rapidly vanishing water in the southwest, which included discussing the risk of a dead pool scenario whereby water would no longer flow downstream of the Hoover Dam.[1] Seven states are affected by the water crisis.
