Chun Doo-hwan

Chun Doo-hwan (born January 18, 1931) was the president of South Korea from September 1, 1980, to February 24, 1988. He was an ally of Ronald Reagan, who praised him for creating democratic institutions.[1]

In 1983 North Korean secret agency nearly killed Chun Doo-hwan by a terrorist attack in Burma.[2] In his tenure the Kwangju Riot appeared.
