John Boozman (born December 10, 1950 in Fort Smith, Arkansas) is the junior Republican United States Senator from Arkansas, defeating incumbent Democrat Blanche Lincoln during the 2010 election. He is a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee, Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, and Veterans' Affairs Committee. Previously he was U.S. Representative from Arkansas' third congressional district. Boozman attended the University of Arkansas and Southern College of Optometry.
He won a special election in November 2001 to replace Asa Hutchinson, who resigned to head the Drug Enforcement Administration. He faced modest Democrat opposition in 2004 and 2006, however was unopposed in his 2008 reelection.
Boozman was elected U.S. Senator in 2010 and subsequently re-elected in 2016.
