Woodville is a city in Texas, in the region known as Deep East Texas. It is the county seat of Tyler County (which is not to be confused with Tyler, Texas, the seat of Smith County which is also in East Texas, but farther north).
The county made national headlines when, after the controversial preview for the Netflix movie "Cuties" aired, a grand jury issued an indictment in September 2020 against Netflix, charging it with a violation of Texas Penal Code Section 43.262, which prohibits promoting lewd visual material of children "which appeals to the prurient interest in sex and has no serious literary, artistic, political, or scientific value".[1][2] The indictment was served on the corporation on October 1, 2020.[3]
