'''Thetan''' is a term within the belief system of [[Scientology]] which refers to the "immortal spirit being" that they believe lives inside of all human beings.  It is analogous to the [[soul]] or [[spirit]] found in many other religions, with the important distinction that Scientologists believe the thetan is not exclusive to any one individual; rather, after a person's death, the thetan goes to [[Venus]], where it is recycled by the native Venusians before being sent back to [[Earth]] and into another newborn person.
