Conrad Nicholson Hilton ( 1887 – 1979 ), was an American business owner, hotel magnate. Born December 25, in San Antonio, New Mexico. The son of a local grocer, Hilton took over his father's general store at the age of 21. He then entered politics, serving two terms in the New Mexico State Legislature. He bought his first hotel in 1919 in Cisco, Texas and before his death had expanded his business to thousands of hotels, under several brand names, throughout the world. [1] [2]
