Infomercial

What is (was) this infomercial doing in CP? Not a word about the controversy regarding whether it even qualifies to be called Christian according to the Biblical and historical use of the word.Daniel1212 13:04, 9 July 2009 (EDT)

What you did was to minimized the substantial conflict that SDA had and has with historical Christianity, as well as to sanitize the negative things which it revolve around, while favorably presenting your doctrine. I notice I cannot edit this article, so I thought 'd just post this here - the sentence "This was later moved to 1844, but which also failed." is not very clear. Perhaps "This was later changed to 1844, but his (the?) prophecy failed to come to pass", or somesuch wording might be a little clearer? Also, "The chief proponent of this idea was Mrs. Ellen G. White, who along her husband James" needs the word "with" inserted between "along" and "her". Also, "matching events top the predictions in the Bible." - "top" should be "to". --KipDonner 18:56, 10 July 2009 (EDT)

Christian Sunday

This is an interesting article, and I've learned a lot from it. But the section about the SDA's desire to respect a Christian Sunday perplexes me - "The concern about establishing a Christian Sunday expanded into opposition to the establishment of a "Christian" identity for the nation, and opposition to school prayer. This led to easy alliances with secularists in the American political spectrum." I don't understand that? How did their "concern about establishing a Christian Sunday" lead them to 'oppose Christianity and school prayer'?! It seems like they are completely opposite instincts? they wanted a Christian SATURDAY and strongly opposed laws that closed places on Sunday. for them sabbath = Saturday = 7th day. RJJensen 19:12, 10 July 2009 (EDT)
