Preachology: the science of preaching.
The word “Preachology” carries all of the words exegesis, hermeneutics, and homiletics. Defined, exegesis is the field study of interpretation and understanding of biblical texts. Hermeneutics is the field of study resulting in a discourse of a practical application of a text. Homiletics is the art of sermon composition and delivery.
Preachology encompasses the whole realm of preaching, from sermonator to pulpiteer. Therefore, preachology is the discipline of being a preacher. The word carries the capacity to expound and explain the scripture and the ability to exhort and edify by way of preaching.
"Preachology is from the words "preach" (to deliver a sermon) and "ology" (any science or branch of study). Of course, it is also an "art" (a superior skill that you can learn by study and practice and observation)."(used by permission)
