Rick Astley (born Lancashire, 1966) is a pop/soul singer most famous for the use of his song 'Never Gonna Give You Up', in the internet prank known as a Rickroll.
Possibly due to the memetic success of the above prank[1], he has been nominated in the MTV Europe awards for being the best music act ever[2], an accolade he won on 7 November 2008 following a tense period of delay voting.[3]
