Patty Murray, born October 11, 1950 (age 75), is a United States Senator from the state of Washington. A member of the Democratic Party she has voted with the a majority of her Democratic colleagues ninety-six percent of the time during the current Congress.[1] According to the VoteMatch quiz, Murray is a hard-core liberal. [2] She previously worked as a citizen lobbyist for environmental and education issues from 1983 to 1988. She was elected to the United States Senate in 1992 and has been reelected ever since.[3]

In 2002, Murray praised Osama Bin Laden in front of a group of high school students.[4]
