Bulrush is the name of a type of reed.

Jochebed the mother of Moses used bulrushes to build an ark to save the life of her son when she placed him in the Nile river as ordered by the Pharaoh.(Exodus 2:3) These bulrushes were the papyrus reed that were common in Egypt.[1] They were used for many purposes, including the construction of small boats, and were the main ingredient in the ancient Egyptian paper.
