Cross Fell
From Conservapedia
Cross Fell in the traditional county of Cumberland is at 2,930 ft (893m) the highest point of the Pennines and anywhere in England outside the Lake District, from which it is separated by the Eden Valley. It was formerly known as Fiend's Fell.
It comprises the greatest contiguous area of highland above 2,000 feet in England, and has on average the longest-lasting snow cover of any location in the country, sometimes persisting all year round in shaded hollows.
A number of disused copper mines are to be seen on its slopes.
