The process within the States of redrawing legislative district boundaries to reflect population changes following the decennial census.

Redistricting in the United States is something administered on the state level and found in Article 1, Section 2, of the United States Constitution.[1] Democrats have long used gerrymandering to maximize their number of seats in Congress.

In August 2025, redistricting became a national crisis when Democrat-controlled states harbored Texas Democrat legislators who fled Texas and became fugitives to block a quorum on a scheduled redistricting vote in Austin.
